Specialist Red Spray Marker Dye is a red liquid marking dye to assist in the clearer identification of sprayed areas. A simple and cost-effective system to reduce costly problems in over application in all spraying situations.  When used as a colouring agent with white foam markers, the foam will become pink in colour to allow clearer identification.

Spray Marking: Suitable for use with pesticide spray solutions to enable clear identification of sprayed areas.

Foam Markers: Suitable for use with white foam marking solutions where a contrasting colour is required.

Granular Formulations: Suitable for use with liquid, powder and granular pesticide formulation.

Why choose Specialist Red Spray Marker Dye;

  • Contains the active ingredient Rhodamine B.
  • Herbicide marking additive & foam marker that clearly identifies sprayed areas.
  • Intense, longer-lasting colouring from Rhodamine active ingredient.
  • Suitable for use with liquid, powder and granular pesticide formulation.
  • Minimise the risk of missing areas, sections of paddocks or road strips which results in reduced weed control & reduced crop yield.
  • Minimise the risk of over-spraying which can result in increased toxicity to non-target vegetation and increased cost of treatment.
  • Act as a warning signal to alerts citizens in public places that pesticide has been applied.
  • Improve the precision of applications, reducing the need for follow-up treatments and hence potentially reducing overall pesticide use and associated costs.
  • Identify spray patterns, giving early indications of drift to non-target areas.
  • Rapidly identify any faults in nozzles, sprayers and protective clothing, so reducing the likelihood of operator contamination.

Dye markers can help to reduce operator contamination, lessen the risk of crop damage through overdosing and drift, and help limit impact on non-target vegetation. Dye markers can therefore help reduce overall herbicide inputs through better targeting.

    I like being able to see what I’ve sprayed and find this essential for sanity as much as being practical but I needed to use a good 200mL per 100L which is over double the 50 to 100 on the label. Acknowledged that the disclaimer says increase as required but it makes it quite expensive. Have not tried other brands. Used in St Johns Wort mix so you’d think it wouldn’t be hard to turn a yellow flower red but as I said it needed much more.

    The visibility and longevity of colour from a rhodamine marker dye ( Specialist Red Spray Marker Dye) applied with pesticides can vary depending on several factors, including the formulation of the pesticide, environmental conditions, and the specific application method used. Rhodamine marker dyes are fluorescent dyes often added to pesticide formulations to aid in tracking and visualizing the application. They are typically brightly coloured, allowing applicators to see where the pesticide has been applied. However, it's important to note that the primary purpose of these dyes is to assist with application accuracy and coverage rather than providing long-lasting visual effects. The duration of colour visibility can range from a few hours to a few days, depending on the factors mentioned. Environmental factors such as sunlight, rainfall, and soil conditions can impact the dye's persistence. Exposure to sunlight can cause the dye to fade quickly, while heavy rainfall or irrigation may wash it away sooner.

    Additionally, certain soil types may absorb or break down the dye more rapidly than others. It's worth noting that the colour from a rhodamine marker dye is temporary and does not indicate the persistence or effectiveness of the pesticide itself. The dye is primarily used as a visual aid during application to ensure even coverage and to help prevent under-or over-application.
