Ranga 240 SL Herbicide (Imazapic) RANGA Conquest Crop Protection

Description

Ranga 240 SL Herbicide

Active Ingredient: Imazapic @ 240g/L

Similar or comparable to Flame Herbicide (BASF), Spark Herbicide (Nufarm), Impose Herbicide (ADAMA) & Implode 240 SL (Axichem)

Ranga 240 SL Herbicide is a residual (6-12 weeks) pre-emergent herbicide for the control of certain annual grass and broadleaf weeds in fallow situations, sugarcane and peanuts. It also provides post-emergence control of certain annual grass and broadleaf weed in peanuts and sugarcane. Ranga 240 SL Herbicide is also used in fallow before the planting of wheat, barley or chickpea.

Being a pre-emergence herbicide, Ranga provides short-term (6-12 weeks) pre-emergence control of summer germinating grasses and broadleaf weeds in cultivated or uncultivated fallow.  Ranga 240 SL Herbicide controls a wide weed spectrum for residual herbicides providing greater soil moisture to crops.

What weeds does Ranga 240 SL Herbicide target;

Awnless Barnyard Grass (Echinochloa Colona) Button Grass (Dactyloctenium Radulans) Guinea Grass (Panicum Maximum) Pigweed (Portulaca Oleracea)
Barnyard Grass (E. Crus-Galli) Common Sida (Sida Rhombifolia) Ipomoea Spp., Stink Grass (Eragrostis Cilianensis)
Barnyard Grass (Echinochloa Colona) Dwarf Amaranth (Amaranthus Macrocarpus) Liverseed Grass (Urochloa Panicoides) Summer Grass (Digitaria Cilaris)
Blackberry Nightshade (Solanum Nigrum) Giant/Black Pigweed (Triathema Portulacastrum) Milkweed (Mexican Fire Plant) (Euphorbia Heterophylla) Yellow Vine (Tribulus Terrestris)
Blowaway Grass (Panicum Decompositum) Glossy Nightshade (Solanum Americanum) Mintweed (Salvia Reflexa)
Blue Billygoat Weed (Ageratum Houstonianum) Green Amaranth (Amaranthus Viridis) Nutgrass (Cyperus Rotundus)
Boggabri Weed (Amaranthus Mitchelli) Green Summer Grass (Brachiaria Subquadripara) Peachvine/Cowvine (Ipomea Lonchophylla)

What situations can Ranga 240 SL Herbicide be used in;

  • Fallow, prior to planting winter crops as directed in the fallow crops table (Qld and Nthn NSW only)
  • Sugarcane (Qld, NSW and WA only)
  • Peanuts (Qld, NSW and NT only)

The active ingredient in Ranga 240 SL Herbicide, Imazapic, translocates to growing tips in roots and shoots, interfering with the production of essential amino acids and thus preventing new cell growth. Imazapic is considered a good residual herbicide due to several key properties:

  • Long-lasting control: Imazapic provides extended weed control, often lasting for several months. This reduces the need for frequent herbicide applications throughout the growing season.
  • Broad spectrum activity: It is effective against a wide range of broadleaf and grass weeds, including many difficult-to-control species.
  • Soil activity: Imazapic is primarily taken up by plant roots, providing residual control of weeds germinating after application. It also has some foliar activity, allowing for control of emerged weeds.
  • Versatility: It can be used in various cropping systems.
  • Low application rates: Imazapic is effective at relatively low application rates, reducing the potential for environmental impact and cost.

Tips For Use

General Instructions:

All Applications:

  • Reduce the incidence of “fines” by using the correct nozzles and operating pressures. Replace worn or old nozzles and calibrate equipment on a regular basis.

Fallow application:

  • This product is for use in fallow prior to the planting of various crops as outlined in the Directions for Use table.
  • Ranga 240 SL Herbicide is a pre-emergence herbicide that is recommended to provide short-term (6-12 weeks) pre-emergence control of summer germinating grasses and broadleaf weeds in cultivated or uncultivated fallow.
  • A green weed cover of greater than 50% will significantly reduce the length of pre-emergence weed control.

Sugarcane application:

Pre-emergence:

  • Where possible, apply to soil two days prior to incorporation. Incorporate with adequate irrigation or rainfall to a minimum depth of 5 em. Incorporation by flood irrigation may result in loss of weed control.
  • Ranga 240 SL Herbicide should be applied to plant or ratoon cane before the cane has emerged.
  • When applying Ranga 240 SL Herbicide in moist conditions, allow weeds to germinate prior to application and apply mixed with an appropriate knockdown herbicide.
  • Whenever emerged weeds are present, Ranga 240 SL Herbicide should be mixed with an appropriate knockdown herbicide.

Post-emergence:

  • Ranga 240 SL Herbicide must always be mixed with registered rates of Paraquat and applied as a carefully directed inter-row spray to weeds and at the base of the sugarcane stalks, minimising spray contact with sugarcane foliage.
  • Do not add crop oil to this mixture.
  • Other surfactant or adjuvant is not required.

Peanut application:

Pre-emergence:

  • Apply to soil and incorporate with adequate irrigation or rainfall to a minimum depth of 5 em.

Post-emergence:

  • Ranga 240 SL Herbicide must always be mixed with an adjuvant as directed in the Directions for Use section of the label.

Soil Type:

  • Pre-emergence weed control with Ranga 240 SL Herbicide can be limited when applied onto soils with pH <5.0 and/or which contain high concentrations of iron (Fe) and/or aluminium (AI).
  • These situations are common in soil types such as Krasnozems and red brown Ferrosols.

Mixing:

  • Ranga 240 SL Herbicide is an aqueous solution.
  • Part fill the spray tank with water, then with agitator running, add the required amount of product, then fill the tank with water.
  • When tank mixing this product with other recommended compatible products, first add the other product to the tank and mix thoroughly before adding this product.
  • For post-emergence applications in peanuts, add adjuvant after the addition of Ranga 240 SL Herbicide to the tank.
  • No adjuvants or surfactants are required when Ranga 240 SL Herbicide is used alone for pre-emergence weed control or with Paraquat.
  • Do not add crop oil when applied post-emergence with paraquat.

Restraints:

  • Do not apply to soils saturated with water.
  • Do not apply by aircraft.

Protection of Crops, Native and Other Non-Target Plants:

  • Do not apply under weather conditions or from spraying equipment that may cause spray to drift onto nearby susceptible plants/crops, cropping lands or pastures.
  • Do not spray within 50 m of wetlands or waterways.

Protection of Wildlife, Fish, Crustaceans and the Environment:

  • Do not contaminate streams, rivers or waterways with the chemical or used containers.
