ProForce Monterey Aquatic Surfactant

ProForce Monterey Aquatic Surfactant is a non-ionic penetrating surfactant and spray tank acidifier.

It contains 350 g/L soyal phospholipids and 350 g/L propionic acid, both derived from soybean oils. The adjuvant improves spreading and penetration when added to herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, foliar fertilisers and plant growth regulators. It also lowers spray solution pH to reduce alkaline hydrolysis and assist weak acid herbicide uptake. Because it is aquatically approved, growers can use it for weed control in and around water. It suits professional broadacre, pasture and aquatic spray programmes.

Pack Sizes: 1L, 5L, 20L. Registrant: Indigo Specialty Products Pty Ltd (APVMA #: 89880/142177)

ProForce Monterey Aquatic Surfactant MONTEREY Indigo Specialty Products

Description

ProForce Monterey aquatic surfactant is a non-ionic penetrating adjuvant from Indigo Specialty Products. It contains 350 g/L soyal phospholipids and 350 g/L propionic acid. The natural surfactants come from soybean oils. Therefore, the product improves spreading and penetration across herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, foliar fertilisers and plant growth regulators.

The formulation also works as a spray tank acidifier. It lowers spray solution pH, in most cases to between 4 and 5. As a result, it reduces losses from alkaline hydrolysis. It also improves the uptake of weak acid herbicides. In addition, Monterey assists droplet size management to reduce fine droplets from hydraulic nozzles.

Monterey aquatic surfactant for weed control in and around water

Monterey suits weed control in aquatic situations. It pairs well with aquatically approved herbicides. These include glyphosate, flumioxazin, diquat and amitrole. Because it is non-ionic, it avoids negative reactions with pesticide chemistry.

Compatibility and restraints

Growers should follow two key restraints. First, do not use Monterey with copper products. Second, do not mix it with sulfonyl urea chemistry. This group includes metsulfuron methyl, trifloxysulfuron sodium, foramsulfuron and rimsulfuron products. The product is for professional use only.

Frequently asked questions

Q. What is ProForce Monterey aquatic surfactant used for?

A. It improves spreading and penetration of spray mixes. Growers add it to herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, foliar fertilisers and plant growth regulators. It also acidifies the spray solution.

Q. Is Monterey aquatic surfactant safe to use near water?

A. Monterey is an aquatic-approved adjuvant. Therefore, growers can use it for weed control in aquatic situations. Still, avoid contaminating wetlands or watercourses with product or containers.

Q. What rate of Monterey should I use?

A. The rate depends on the job. For most tank mixes, use 250 to 500 mL per 100 L. For pH reduction, use 100 mL per 100 L. Always use the higher rate on stressed weeds.

Q. Can I mix Monterey with any herbicide?

A. No. Do not use it with copper products. Also, do not mix it with sulfonyl urea chemistry. Check each tank mix partner label first.

Q. Does Monterey reduce spray drift?

A. It helps reduce fine droplets from flat fan nozzles. However, it does not eliminate off-target movement. Good spraying practice and correct nozzle choice still matter.

Directions Of Use

Click here for ProForce Monterey Aquatic Surfactant directions for use.

General Instructions:

  • ProForce Monterey Surfactant can be used where the label of the agricultural chemical recommends or requires a wetter, spreader or self-emulsifying oil.
  • It works as a penetrant, surfactant and acidifier.
  • Growers should follow the restraints below and the rate that matches the task.

Restraints:

  • Do not use with copper products.
  • For professional use only.

Application Rate table (per 100 L of spray mixture):

Situation Rate per 100 L Critical Comments
Addition to herbicides, insecticides, fungicides and plant growth regulators to improve spreading and penetration 250 – 500 mL Use high rate on stressed or difficult-to-control weeds.
Reduction of pH to reduce alkaline hydrolysis 100 mL Add to water in spray tank before adding tank mix partner.
To improve uptake of foliar fertilisers 300 – 500 mL Tank mixing with other agricultural chemicals may increase the potential for crop damage. Check with supplier.
Assistance in droplet size management to partially reduce the number of fine droplets produced from hydraulic nozzles by air and ground 300 – 500 mL Helps to reduce the number of fine droplets. Monterey will reduce the fine droplets associated with, but not eliminate, off-target movement. This is contingent upon good agricultural spraying practice and appropriate nozzle choice.

Mixing:

  • Half fill the spray tank with water and commence agitation.
  • Add the required quantity of Monterey.
  • Then add the recommended quantity of herbicide, insecticide or foliar fertiliser.
  • Continue agitation while topping up the tank and during spraying.

Critical Comments:

  • Use the high rate on stressed or difficult-to-control weeds.
  • Add the product to water before the tank mix partner when reducing pH.
  • Do not use in situations that are conducive to drift.
  • Do not mix with sulfonyl urea chemistry, including metsulfuron methyl, trifloxysulfuron sodium, foramsulfuron and rimsulfuron-based products.

Rates are a general guide only.
