The Barricade 'S' Cattle Dip and Spray directions for use advise to observe normal safe handling of young stock when dipping, preferably separating them from adult cattle. We understand that the same would apply to applications via hand sprays and non-recirculating spray races. Further technical recommendations can be sought from the manufacturer (Zoetis) at 1800 022 442.

Barricade 'S' is a contact spray with organophosphate active ingredients, which should provide quick knockdown results when applied as per the 'directions for use' within 1-2 days from application. However, there may be resistance if ticks are still on treated livestock after this period. If you suspect resistance, we recommend contacting your local Biosecurity Office or Zoetis (1800 022 442 or [email protected]) for further advice.

When using Barricade 'S' Cattle Dip and Spray as a hand spray, there isn't a set quantity that should be applied per animal.  The beast needs to be sprayed until they are thoroughly wet for the Barricade to be effective.  Barricade 'S' Cattle Dip and Spray is a contact chemical that the tick must come in contact with and is not translocated through the animal's blood.

Barricade 'S' does not claim to control mites and only has claims to control certain cattle louse species.  Barricade is an organophosphate chemical & is likely to control other pests not listed on the products label but results from 'off-label' use will not be guaranteed by the manufacturer, Zoetis.  You could check with Zoetis on ph 1800 963 847 if they have additional data regarding Barricade's effectiveness on mites and louse species not listed on the label.
