The Ratshot Rodent Bait Station can be opened with two strong, straight items, i.e. phillips head screwdrivers, chopsticks etc. Insert both items into the lock, applying downward and inward pressure to release the locking mechanism. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not sell separate keys to the bait station.

  2. Do the mice stay in the Ratshot Rodent Bait Station, or do they feast, leave, and die?

The Ratshot Rodent Bait Stations are designed to hold the rodent baits in a safe, secure location. The rodents go to the bait station to feed on the blocks and leave after consuming the poison. As the blocks are secured inside the station, the rodent cannot remove them from the target bait area.

The accessories that are supplied with the Ratshot Rodent Bait Station are; (1) the key to open the locked bait station, (2) a metal rod that can be secured horizontally into the second compartment of the station with the capacity to have three rodent blocks mounted on it, (3) a mount that allows you to attach the bait station securely to a structure, i.e. flat wall or a round pipe (mounting screws are not provided) & (4) four plastic hexagonal rods that can be inserted upright into the second compartment with a wax block on each.  These plastic rods replace the metal rod and are inserted into the two holes at the station's base.

Tips For Use

Tips:

  • Choose the right product for the job and seek advice if required.
  • Anticipate the problem rather than reacting to it.
  • Expose all of the pests to the control measure at the same time and remove all other food options if possible.
  • Follow label directions. This will improve results and minimise the risk to non-target animals.
  • Replenish baits when they are consumed by pests and offer a generous amount of bait.
  • Manage pest immigration by establishing and maintaining control buffer zones.
  • Use mouse bait stations to ensure mouse bait remains fresh and dry plus prevents access by non target species.
