The Iris IE-SS/C spreaders are available in 3 sizes (70L, 100L & 180L Hopper Capacity) and are powered by a DC 12V Electric Motor. They have a spreading width Maximum 22m & Minimum 2m (controlled by spinner speed) and an adjustable spreading pattern – 90 to 180 degrees (Right or left by manual settings). The Iris SS/C models also operates the open/close slide (flow rate) from the hopper to spinner via remote control.

Directions Of Use

Directions for Use:

Refer to Iris IE-SS/C 12V Electric Spreader / Seeder Operators Manual for full set up and application instructions.

Insert Iris IE-SS/C Spreader’s holes with bracket to install to various Utility, Tractor, ATV etc and connect.
Close the outlet and pour fertilizer, pellets or seed into the hopper.
Adjust spread rate by using adjustment lever.
Install cable ⊕,⊖ on battery.
Spread fertilizer or seed by the controller.
You may require an additional adjustment by moving the individual discharging plate ring when the condition of fertilizer or seed changes (weight, condition(wet or dry), etc) – see operators manual for setting charts
Moving the discharging plate ring left will carry more material to be spread to the right hand side.
Moving the discharging plate ring right will carry more material to be spread to the left hand side.
A test spreading is required after each adjustment.

Operating the Machine:

Fill the hopper with fertiliser, seed or pellets.
Set the shutter stop plate to the desired setting.
Set the motor speed control to the desired setting.
When ready to spread fertiliser, switch on the motor switch.
Open the shutter using the shutter switch.
When spreading is complete, close the shutter using the shutter switch.
Switch off the motor switch.

Important:

Always start the spinner before opening the shutter
Always stop the spinner after closing the shutter

The Iris IE-SS/C 12V Electric Spreader / Seeder has spread Tebuthiuron 200GR Pellets (i.e. Graslan) at 15kg/Ha (1.5gm/sqm) successfully. The spreader needs to be calibrated before application so that the hopper opening and spinner are at their minimum and the ground speed is adequate for the desired rate. The manufacturer, Farmtech, can provide further clarification on the Iris IE-SS/C 12V Electric Spreader / Seeders by calling (02) 6000 1987.

The Iris IE-SS/C 12V Electric Spreader is not supplied with a mounting bracket. This is available upon request as required. The Iris Spreader has a stainless steel frame with mounting holes on the bottom and rear of the right-angle frame. Most customers find mounting the spreader directly to a side-by-side tray or making a basic mount the most economical and functional method to secure it to the vehicle. The Iris IE-SS/C 12V Electric Spreader has a control unit that can sit in the vehicle's cab. The unit can turn the spreader on/off, open and close the hopper and adjust the spinner speed.

Tips For Use

Safety Information:

Safety gear must be worn while operating the machine.
If more than two people are operating the machine, observe the others’ movement carefully.
Make sure there is no on or no obstacle within the operating area and its range.
Do not overload or apply excessive force to the equipment.
Perform “pre-operation” procedures. In particular, check for loose nuts and bolts, connecting pins, and lubricant.
If any trouble occurs while operating the equipment, turn off the engine of ATV or tractor and apply the brake, then refer to “troubleshooting.”

Checkup:

Make sure to apply Lubricant where needed and check for loose nuts and bolts before operating.
Before operating, please check for lubrication, and connection of the parts.
Test drive the equipment before actual use.

Storage:

When the equipment is to be stored for a long time, apply lubricants to the area where it is likely to have corrosion.
Firmly secure the fertilizer spreader on the flat surface to prevent any possible falls.
Keep it away from children to prevent any safety hazard.
When the equipment is to be stored for a long time, store indoors.
If it is to be stored outside, place it on the flat surface and cover it with protectors to prevent any source of damage from rain and snow.
