Description

Tordon RegrowthMaster Herbicide

Active Ingredients: Aminopyralid @ 25g/L, Picloram @ 100g/L & Triclopyr @ 200g/L

Tordon RegrowthMaster Herbicide is used for the control of unwanted timber regrowth by stem injection or cut stump/brushcutter application and also control of blackberry, gorse and harrissia cactus by foliar spray treatment.

Tordon RegrowthMaster is an updated management tool to assist graziers in thinning regrowth to improve the productivity of grazing enterprises and assist with native forest management.

Tordon RegrowthMaster delivers much better control of wattle regrowth than the old Tordon Double Strength Herbicide with significantly less root suckering in species where that is common.

  • Commercial and industrial areas
  • Forests
  • Pastures

Why choose Tordon RegrowthMaster Herbicide;

  • Specialty herbicide for use as a stem injection and cut stump treatment to control a range of woody weeds.
  • Formulated to be mixed with water.
  • Through the specialised application techniques, provides targeted weed control with minimal off-target risk.
  • Use provides excellent control of single- and multi-stemmed saplings where foliar spraying would be difficult or pose a risk to the environment.
  • Via cut stump treatment, prevents regrowth of trees following mechanical control.
  • May also be used as a high volume foliar spray for some species where the use of ester formulations is restricted.

Tordon RegrowthMaster contains three active ingredients (Aminopyralid, Picloram & Triclopyr) which belong to the pyridine group (Group I herbicides). The product has the disrupters of plant cell growth mode of action (auxin inhibitors).

Defoliation of regrowth may take several weeks depending on growth conditions at time of application and final results can take 18 months. Similarly, the speed and level of grass response depends on the seed bank and rainfall following treatment.

The time it takes for Tordon Regrowthmaster Herbicide to work will depend on several factors.  These include if the tree is stressed (not actively growing) due to prolonged periods of extreme cold or moisture stress (water-logged or drought-affected) or if previous herbicide treatments have been used.   The sap must be actively flowing through the tree for the chemical to be effective; hence active growing trees will show signs of poisoning quicker.  For large trees, the process is slow, and you may not see brownout for up to 12 weeks (conditions depending).  Yellowing of leaves should be evident in this period.  It is also recommended not to burn treated trees for nine months after application or mechanically clear the tree for at least 12 months after application as it may not be completely dead and suckering may result.

The Tordon RTU is a speciality herbicide that is not registered for sale in Australia.  It is made from 2,4-D (20g/L) & Picloram (5g/L) and is a ready to use (RTU) product that is already diluted.  There are concentrate herbicides available in Australia made from the same active ingredients such as Pulverize & Depic Herbicide (2,4-D @ 300g/L & Picloram @ 75g/L) which are far stronger.

If you are after a herbicide to control trees & regrowth via cut stump application then the Tordon Regrowthmaster is a good option.  The active ingredients (Triclopyr, Picloram & Aminopyralid) are specifically designed for this purpose.  The only drawback is that it is only available in 5L & 10L packs which is a significant volume if you only have a few trees to control.  Other options that you could consider are products similar or comparable to the original Tordon Double Strength Tree Killer (Tordon DST) which are made from Triclopyr & Picloram.  These are Treeson Herbicide (https://bit.ly/treeson-herbicice) 500mL & 1L & Shredder Herbicide (https://bit.ly/shredder-herbicide) in 5L and 20L.
