Seasol Plus (Seaweed, Fish and Humate Soil Conditioner)

Seasol Plus is a seaweed, fish and humate soil conditioner from Seasol International Pty Ltd, built for growers who want plant stimulation, soil conditioning and extra nitrogen in one product.

It suits broadacre cropping, pasture, orchards, vegetables and turf, and growers apply it through boom sprays, drip and micro-irrigation, fertigation or seed coating. The blend stimulates soil microbial activity and improves soil structure, so plants take up nutrients more efficiently. Because it aids establishment and reduces transplant shock, growers often apply it at seeding, transplanting and at key stress points such as before and after heatwaves or frosts. Seasol Plus works within a broader nutritional program and delivers the most consistent results alongside a balanced fertiliser regime.

Pack Sizes: 5 litre, 20 litre, 200 litre, 1000 litre. Registrant: Seasol International Pty Ltd (APVMA #: Not applicable)

Seasol Plus (Seaweed, Fish and Humate Soil Conditioner) SEASOL-PLUS Seasol

Description

Seasol Plus is a seaweed, fish and humate soil conditioner from Seasol International Pty Ltd. It carries a typical analysis of 5.4% nitrogen (N), 0.1% phosphorus (P) and 2.6% potassium (K). This blend delivers plant stimulation, soil conditioning and a nitrogen lift in a single application.

Growers use Seasol Plus for soil improvement programs, seed bed preparation, pasture renovation and watering in transplants. The kelp, fish and humate blend stimulates soil microbial activity, lifts nutrient uptake and improves soil structure. It performs best when growers apply it as part of a broader, balanced fertiliser program.

How Seasol Plus Soil Conditioner Works

Seasol Plus works by stimulating microbial activity in the soil, which in turn lifts nutrient uptake through plant roots. The seaweed component supports root development, and the added fish and humate contribute organic matter and trace elements. As a result, treated soil holds structure better under stress, and plants establish faster after transplanting. Consequently, growers often apply Seasol Plus at key stress points, such as before and after heatwaves or frosts. This timing protects crops and supports recovery.

General Instructions:

  • Dilute Seasol Plus in water before use, and never apply it undiluted.
  • Shake or agitate the product before use, and maintain agitation during dilution and application where possible.
  • For foliar spraying, apply the mixed product as soon as possible and maintain tank agitation.
  • For fertigation, agitate the product regularly in the fertigation tank, and for best results, run Seasol Plus on its own rather than blended with other inputs.
  • Add a non-ionic wetting agent for plants that are hard to wet, and avoid application under extreme weather conditions.
  • For climatic stress protection, apply 5-10 L/ha 3 to 7 days before and after extreme events such as heatwaves or frost.

Application Rate Table:

Category Crop Rate Application / Critical Comments
Nut Trees Almonds, hazelnuts, macadamias, pecans 5-10 L/ha or 1 mL per sq m of plant area Apply at planting, drenched or watered in at 1:400 dilution. Apply from green tip or first growth flush. Run 5 applications at critical growth stages, including post-harvest. Use the higher rate for larger trees.
Deciduous Fruit Trees Pome fruits, stone fruits and other deciduous species 5-10 L/ha or 1 mL per sq m of plant area Apply at planting, drenched or watered in at 1:400 dilution. Apply at each growth flush, or run 5 applications at critical growth stages and post-harvest. Use higher rates for larger trees.
Evergreen Tree Crops Avocados, bananas, citrus, olives 5-10 L/ha or 1 mL per sq m of plant area Apply at planting, drenched or watered in at 1:400 dilution. Apply from bud initiation and at each growth flush. On mature trees, apply 10 L/ha per month, fertigated every irrigation month.
Fruiting Annuals Capsicums, cucurbits, strawberries, tomatoes, pumpkins 5 L/ha Apply at seedling and transplanting stage and from 15 cm growth. Repeat every 10 to 14 days, or run 4 applications as required.
Leafy Vegetables Asparagus, brassicas, celery, herbs, lettuces 5 L/ha Apply at planting out as a 1:400 dilution (2.5 mL/L or 2.5 L per 1,000 L water), for watering in seedlings through a water wheel planter or similar device. Apply at the seedling and transplanting stage and from 3 to 4 leaves. Repeat every 10 to 14 days, or run 4 applications as required.
Root Vegetables Carrots, onions, potatoes, sweet potatoes 10 L/ha Apply from in-furrow. Run 4 to 5 applications at critical growth stages.
Vine & Berry Crops Blueberries, raspberries, wine grapes, table grapes 5-10 L/ha or 1 mL per sq m Apply regularly through the growing season. As a minimum, apply at pre-flowering, fruit filling and post-harvest. Use higher rates for larger canopies. Do not apply directly over flowers where flowers are essential to crop productivity. For blueberries and table grapes, stop foliar application once bloom develops to avoid damage.
Broadacre & Turf Canola, cotton, pasture crops including lucerne, sugar cane, turf 10 L/ha or 1 mL per sq m Apply at the start of the growing season and after each cut or grazing event in a rotational or strip grazing system. Apply post-emergence, running 4 to 5 applications at critical growth stages. For seed coating cereals, use up to 4-10 L per tonne of seed, and do not exceed a total of 10 L per tonne. For sugar cane, apply 5 L/ha in-furrow or as a billet dip, then a second application of 10 L/ha at tillering. For ratoon crops, apply 10 L/ha at tillering. Do not graze pasture with ruminant animals for 3 weeks after application.

Re-treatment Interval: This varies by crop category. Most horticultural crops run on a 10 to 14 day cycle, or 4 to 5 applications at critical growth stages. Broadacre and pasture applications repeat at the start of the season and after each cut or grazing event. See the table above for crop-specific timing.

Critical Comments:

  • Do not apply directly over flowers where flowers are essential to crop productivity.
  • For blueberries and table grapes, stop foliar application once bloom develops, to avoid crop damage.
  • Do not exceed a total of 10 L of liquid per tonne of seed when seed coating cereals.
  • Do not graze pasture with ruminant animals for 3 weeks after application.
