Mainsail 700 WG Herbicide can be used for either pre- or post-emergence weed control depending on the crop and weeds to be controlled. When the product is applied pre-emergence, susceptible weeds may emerge but growth will be retarded and weeds will either die or remain stunted and will not compete with the crop.

Lucerne:

Controls more weeds for longer than any other herbicide.
Mainsail 700 WG Herbicide is ideal in lucerne and may be used pre- or post-emergence, with a high level of crop safety as early as the one and two true leaf stage.
Will not reduce the lucerne yield on the first cut.
In a mixed wheat/livestock operation, winter active lucerne is an ideal legume for rotation with cereals.

Field Peas & Faba Beans:

Kills weeds, saves herbicide incorporation, time & money.
Mainsail 700 WG Herbicide gives you control of problem weeds in field peas and faba beans: including radish, bedstraw and other broadleaf weeds and some grasses.
A single spray of Mainsail 700 WG Herbicide controls a wide range of weeds which otherwise may require an additional application of either a grass or broadleaf herbicide.

Tank-mixed with simazine, Mainsail 700 WG Herbicide gives you a measure of safety that atrazine can’t match.
Mainsail 700 WG Herbicide + simazine does not cause the “burning” and crop damage of young chickpeas which has been reported with atrazine + simazine.
Also, unlike atrazine, Mainsail 700 WG Herbicide allows resowing if faced with a crop failure.

Tips For Use

Application:

A non-ionic surfactant, or an adjuvant as specified in the Directions of Use, must be added to Mainsail 700 WG Herbicide for post-emergence weed control. The addition of liquid ammonium sulphate at a rate of 2L/100L water may assist in post-emergence control of summer growing weeds. Adequate soil moisture is important for optimum activity. When applied post-emergence, weeds will either die or remain stunted and will not complete with the crop.
Mainsail 700 WG Herbicide should not be applied for a minimum of two hours before rainfall or irrigation.
Ground Application: Avoid overlaps when spraying. Apply in 50 to 100L/ha water using flat fan nozzles. This product may be applied in a band over the row in row crops. This will assist in minimizing soil residue carry-over.
Aerial Application (Pre-emergence only): Avoid overlaps when spraying. Apply in a minimum of 20L/ha water with a maximum swath width of 18 m using a droplet VMD or 230-280 microns.
Do not apply Mainsail 700 WG Herbicide under conditions (e.g. dead calm, excessive wind and/or small droplets) likely to cause spray drift onto wetlands or waterways, natural vegetation, crops other than specified on label or land to be planted with susceptible crops.

Recropping Interval:

Various minimum re-cropping intervals (months after application) apply and should be observed as per the Directions for Use.

Mixing:

Mainsail 700 WG Herbicide mixes readily with both hard and soft water.
Fill the spray tank one half to three-quarters full with clean water and then, with the agitator running, add the required amount of Conquest Mainsail 700 WG Herbicide and then fill the tank with water.
When tank mixing Conquest Mainsail 700 WG Herbicide with other recommended compatible products, first add the other product to the tank and mix thoroughly before adding Mainsail 700 WG Herbicide.

Restraints:

Do not apply to very wet soils if rain is imminent or to soils prone to waterlogging.
Do not apply to soils of very high organic matter content.
Do not apply to crops or weeds under stress caused by factors such as root or foliar diseases, nutrient deficiencies, or extremes of temperature or moisture.

Storage:

Store in the closed, original container in a cool, well-ventilated area.
Do not store for prolonged periods in direct sunlight.

Safety Directions:

Will damage the eyes.
Will irritate the skin.
Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
When preparing spray, wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist and a washable hat, elbow-length PVC gloves and goggles.
If product in eyes, wash it out immediately with water.
Wash hands after use.
After each day’s use, wash gloves, goggles and contaminated clothing.

First Aid Instructions:

If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre (Ph Australia 13 11 26).
If in eyes, hold eyes open, flood with water for at least 15 minutes and see a doctor.
