Description
Which broadleaf weeds does Bow and Arrow Herbicide target?Â
Bow and Arrow targets a wide variety of broadleaf weeds, including:Â
- Bindii (also known as jo-jo, onehunga, bindy-eye, carpet burweed, common soliva, field burweed, and lawn burweed) [Soliva sessilis]Â
- Capeweed (Arctotheca calendula)Â
- Cat’s ear (also known as flatweed) [Hypochoeris radicata]
- Creeping oxalis (Oxalis corniculata)Â
- Cudweed (Gnaphalium spp.)
- Plantain (Plantago lanceolata)
- White clover (Trifolium repens)
Why choose Bow and Arrow over other herbicides?Â
Many broadleaf turf herbicides on the market cause rapid desiccation of weed leaves and shoots, and while this is beneficial to begin with, recovery often occurs from the root systems as time goes on. Compared to these herbicides, Bow and Arrow provides more comprehensive control over time due to its slow uptake, and has been shown to effectively prevent regrowth.Â
Where can Bow and Arrow Herbicide be used?Â
Bow and Arrow can be used to address weeds in most species of turf, however it has a few limitations:Â
- Do not use Bow and Arrow Herbicide on bent grass or winter grass species, or on golf or bowling greens.
- Be careful when using this product on kikuyu, carpet grass, or Queensland blue couch, as it may lead to transient discolouration.Â
- Always conduct safety testing on a small area prior to large-scale application when treating certain buffalo grasses like ST-85, as varietal differences may lead to more prominent effects.Â
What is the application rate of Bow and Arrow Herbicide?Â
The application rate for Bow and Arrow Herbicide is 5L per hectare or 50mL in 2-5L of water per 100m2.
How long does Bow and Arrow Herbicide take to work?Â
Following application, it may take up to 6 weeks for Bow and Arrow to be effective and for total weed death to be observed – however, if you’re dealing with smaller weeds, it’s likely you’ll notice this sooner.Â
Diflufenican, one of the active ingredients in the herbicide, has residual effects in the soil. Do not over-seed treated areas within 3 months of application, as this may impede turf from establishing effectively.Â
Is Bow and Arrow safe for use around pets?Â
Like with any other herbicide, always remove pets from the area prior to spraying Bow and Arrow, as contact with or ingestion of the herbicide could lead to health complications. We advise keeping pets away from the treated area for at least 24 hours and only allowing re-entry once the spray has fully dried.

Very effective on bindi and clover and about half dozen other weeds. One application transformed our lawn.
Winter grass is still there though.

Have little success controlling clover and creeping oxalis in my kikuyu lawn using products like Amgrow sold through Bunnings. The weeds looked a bit sick for a while but then recover and the lawn grass was adversely affected. Only used one application of Bow and Arrow so far but the results are much better and all the weeds are dying off and the grass is unaffected. I’m confident further applications will totally eradicate the weeds

Over the past 5 years I have used Special Sales to supply our companies herbicide requirements. If a product is unavailable, staff always help and recommend alternative products if available. They usually have in stock another product to match the active constituents. Often cheaper.
Delivery interstate to me is usually 2 days.
That is exceptional service.
