Questions and answers from customers

Can Tank and Equipment Cleaner be used to clean sprayers and electric secateurs that’s been used before Grazon Extra Herbicide (Aminopyralid, Triclopyr & Picloram). I know Aminopyralid is most stubborn, so it’s important to clean AEG electric secateurs before pruning roses and other plants.

Tank and Equipment Cleaner can be used to clean spraying equipment and for decontaminating when changing from one agricultural chemical group to another. Providing the AEG electric secateurs can be cleaned entirely with Tank and Equipment Cleaner, they would also be decontaminated. We would suggest Boomblitz Pesticide Decontaminant is also considered for chemicals that contain Aminopyralid. It is a proprietary pesticide decontaminant (tank and equipment cleaner) that will successfully decontaminate virtually all pesticides, including sulfonylurea and phenoxy-based herbicides.

Boom Kaboom Tank and Equipment Cleaner 'directions for use' recommends a mixing rate of 100grm-250grms to 100L water (4kg - 10kg per 4000kL Tank). The mixing rate and procedure vary with the chemical types required to be cleaned from the equipment. These details can be found in the 'directions for use' which can be found on the Tank and Equipment Cleaner product screen. Scroll down to 'SDS & Technical' tab and select; a PDF file that will be available to download or print.

Tips For Use

General Use:

Flush out sprayer with clean water. Half fill the spray tank and commence agitation. Slowly add the required quantity of Tank and Equipment Cleaner. Top up the tank and agitate vigorously for 15 minutes. Use hand lance or return hose (where suitable) to clean top of tank around filter basket etc. Open spray booms and spray out. With persistent chemicals or when cleaning at end of season, allow mixture to stand overnight before spraying out. When sprayer is to be re-used immediately, re-fill the tank with water, agitate for 5 minutes and spray out. When storing sprayer for any length of time, do not give final rinse until required for use, as Tank and Equipment Cleaner leaves a protective film.

Stain Removal:

To remove stubborn spray stains on the outside of the tank, on tractors or other machinery. Mix Tank and Equipment Cleaner in a bucket and, using rubber gloves, vigorously scrub the affected areas with the solution, using a stiff scrubbing brush.
