Questions and answers from customers

I have been told that Triadimefon 500 WG Fungicide combats rust in frangipanis. The smallest pack I can find after an internet search is around $300. Is there a smaller amount that can be purchased? If so, where? I am in Toowoomba, QLD. Also, does it come in liquid form or just granules?

Triadimefon 500 WG Fungicide is registered to control fungal diseases in wheat and barley. Applications to frangipanis to control rust may be effective but would be 'off-label' and undertaken at the user's own risk. Triadimefon is considered an 'old' fungicide that more effective products have superseded; it is not readily stocked anymore due to low demand. To our knowledge, when it is available, it is only packed in 10kg packs in the 500g/kg formulation, which must be diluted with water to be sprayed.

  2. Hi could you please advise the difference between Triadimefon 500 WG Fungicide and Surefire Triadimenol 250 EC Fungicide? I’m looking for a fungicide that can control the white powdery mildew on my succulents in the garden. I am also looking for a suitable fungicide to sterilize the soil for seed sowing. Can I use Triadimenol?

Fungicides made from Triadimefon & Triadimenol belong to the Triazole chemical group.  Triazole fungicides are systemic pesticides that are widely used to prevent fungal diseases in agriculture by protecting vegetables, fruits and crops.  The difference between the two products lies in the chemistry and formulation of each product, the crops you can use them on and the diseases they target.

Succulent plants would fall under the ornamental range of plants, so you would need to find a fungicide registered for use on Ornamentals to treat Powdery Mildew.  Unfortunately, Triadimenol is not registered for this use.  As the product label binds Specialist Sales, we cannot recommend it be used for any purpose other than what it is registered for.  You may use a product 'off-label' for a trial to test its effectiveness.
