Description

Snooker 240 EC Selective Herbicide

Active Ingredient: Clodinafop-Propargyl @ 240g/L & Cloquintocet-Mexyl @ 60g/L

Similar or Comparable to Topik 240 EC Selective Herbicide (Syngenta)

Snooker 240 EC Selective Herbicide containing Clodinafop controls wild oats, paradoxa grass (annual phalaris), canary grass and annual ryegrass in wheat.  Snooker 240 EC is highly active on wild oats and can be mixed with many broadleaf herbicides.

Why choose Snooker 240 EC Selective Herbicide;

  • Contains the active ingredients Clodinafop & Cloquintocet.
  • Highly active on Wild Oats, Paradoxa Grass, and Canary Grass in Wheat.
  • Built-in safener for improved crop safety.
  • Compatible with a wide range of broadleaf herbicides.
  • Low use rate.
  • Easy to use formulation.

Snooker 240 EC Selective Herbicide is a member of the aryloxyphenoxypropionate (“fop”) group of herbicides. Snooker has the inhibition of fat (lipid) synthesis (or inhibitors of acetyl CoA carboxylase) mode of action.  For weed resistance management, Snooker is a Group A herbicide.  Do not make more than one application of a Group A herbicide with the inhibition of fat (lipid) synthesis (or inhibitors of acetyl CoA carboxylase) mode of action to a crop in the same season.

The active ingredient, Clodinafop, is a selective and translocated herbicide that is absorbed through leaves.  Its main use is for controlling annual ryegrass, wild oats and Phalaris species in wheat. Plants are likely to become resistant to Clodinafop after repeated applications.  Cloquintocet is a safener that is added to reduce the phytotoxicity of Clodinafop on wheat.  It has no useful residual action on grass weeds.  Residues are undetectable 4 weeks after spraying.

Once sprayed with Snooker 240 EC Selective Herbicide, annual ryegrass and wild oats stop growing within 48 hours of application.  The leaves take on a water-soaked or oily appearance within a few days.  One to three weeks later, leaves lose their green colour and become yellow or redden.  They may be easily pulled from their sheaths before dying due to decay at the nodes and growing points. Plants that recover have reduced root systems.
