Penatrol Spray Oil Adjuvant is an adjuvated spraying oil to improve the wetting and spreading of herbicides, insecticides and defoliants on plant surfaces. Penatrol Spray Oil Adjuvant assists with droplet bounce, poor surface contact between active ingredient activity and leaf and low droplet survival on leaves that can reduce herbicide activity.
Many pesticides require the addition of Spray Oil or Adjuvant to improve effectiveness. Increased efficacy is achieved by improved spray retention on the target weed, or greater droplet spreading across the leaf surface and improved herbicide absorption into the leaf. Target grass and broadleaf weeds species differ in leaf structure, growth habit, size, surface and structure. Leaf surfaces can vary greatly, including smooth, waxy or hairy. Spray oils and Adjuvants help to reduce the impact of these barriers on pesticides entering the plant.
What are some of the herbicides Penatrol Spray Oil Adjuvant is compatible with;
Achieve Herbicide | Fusilade WG Herbicide | Topik 240EC Selective Herbicide |
Atrazine | Fusion WG Herbicide | Tordon 242 Cereal Herbicide |
Broadstrike Herbicide | Grazon DS Herbicide | Tordon 75-D Herbicide |
Clethodim Herbicide | Haloxyfop | Triclopyr 600 Herbicide |
Eclipse Herbicide | Lontrel 750SG Herbicide | |
Fluroxypyr 200 Herbicide | Targa Herbicide |
If a Spray Oil or Adjuvant is not used with certain pesticides then the water in the spray solution which has a high surface tension forms discrete droplets on the leaf surface causing uneven pesticide coverage. To ensure the best pesticide performance, a spray droplet must wet the surface of the foliage, spread out and cover the leaf. Adjuvants reduce the surface tension of the spray droplet and the interfacial tension between that droplet and the leaf, improving herbicide uptake and translocation for better weed control.
How does Penatrol Spray Oil Adjuvant provide improved weed control and cost-effectiveness of the spray application;
- Improves penetration of active ingredients by modifying target surface characteristics.
- Improves the spreading of active ingredients to the target plant by reducing the surface tension of spray droplets.
- Minimises any losses due to spray drift and/or evaporation.
- Offers improved solution stability under low water rates.
- Reduces the potential clogging or blockage of spray nozzles.
