Tips For Use

General Directions:

  • Shake container well before use.
  • Administer orally, and check accuracy of drenching equipment before and during use.
  • Clean drenching equipment thoroughly before and after use.
  • Dose rate should be based on heaviest cattle in the mob.
  • Cattle should be weighed either with scales or with weighband.
  • Worm parasites may develop resistance to drenches.
  • It is advisable that an anthelmintic resistance test be carried out before any anthelmintic is used.
  • This drench is not effective against worms resistant to benzimidazole type drenches.
  • If resistance to this drench is suspected, seek veterinary confirmation and notify manufacturer.

Notes:

  • Safe to use in pregnant, sick or debilitated animals, but always take care.
  • This product kills the tissue stages of Strongylus edentatus and at least 50% of the migrating stages of Strongylus vulgaris.
  • The ovicidal activity of this product ensures that 4-6 hours after dosing, virtually all roundworm eggs passed in the dung are rendered infertile, thus reducing the potential for further pasture contamination.
  • To be fully effective, a period of six hours should elapse before drenched animals are moved onto clean pasture.
  • If it is inconvenient to hold animals for six hours and then move them on the same day, they may be returned to an infected pasture overnight and then moved the following day
  • Worma may be given to cattle concurrently with vaccination against clostridial diseases and Leptospira, treatment with selenium (oral or injection), spray or pour-on lice treatments, and growth promotant implants.
  • Worma may be administered to horses at the same time as boticides containing Trichlorphon.
