Cylence Ultra Insecticide Cattle Ear Tags are for effective control of buffalo fly, including control of organophosphate resistant fly populations on beef and dairy cattle.

Cylence Ultra Cattle Tags are impregnated with Betacyfluthrin, a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide along with Piperonyl butoxide, which acts as a synergist.

The insecticides are slowly released from the tag to protect cattle against buffalo fly for up to 4 months.

Cylence Ultra Cattle Tag General Instructions:

All mature animals in the herd should be tagged.
Cylence Ultra will provide effective control of buffalo flies if used regularly on all animals in the group.
The level and duration of control may be reduced under conditions of high fly pressure.
Replace tags as necessary.
Calves less than 3 months should not be tagged as ear damage may result.
Remove tags at end of fly season or prior to slaughter.
Continual exposure to a single class of insecticide (eg, pyrethroids or organophosphates) may lead to the development of resistance to that class of insecticide.
In order to reduce the possibility of buffalo flies developing resistance it is important to rotate the class of insecticide used and/or the method of buffalo fly control on a seasonal basis.
Cylence Ultra contains the pyrethroid insecticide betacyfluthrin plus the synergist piperonyl butoxide. Cylence Ultra may be seasonally rotated with ear tags from other insecticide groups.

Directions Of Use

Application:

Cylence Ultra can be easily applied using an Allflex UTT3S, Universal (red) or LazaMatic applicator.
Attach two tags per animal (one tag per ear) to the back of the ear.
Calves less than 3 months should not be tagged as ear damage may result.

Correct Application Of Buffalo Fly Tags

It is recommended to treat cattle with ear tags during the peak fly season ie. when more susceptible cattle show ‘fly worry’, or when there are more than 200 flies per beef animal or 30 flies per dairy cow.

To prolong the effectiveness of the chemical groups available for fly control, ensure that you rotate your ear tags from year to year.

Be mindful to use an alternative chemical group for fly control pre- and post- Cylence Ultra application to a synthetic pyrethroid (if further fly control is required) to delay the development of resistance.

Dosage:

Apply 2 tags to each animal – one tag in each ear.
Apply as indicated in the diagram
Disinfect pliers prior to use. Place male button onto pin.
Slide tag under the clip of the pliers by depressing the lever.
Position tag in the centre portion of the back side of the ear.
Apply the tag between the second and third rib cartilage. Do not penetrate any cartilage rib or blood vessel.

Cylence Ultra Insecticide Cattle Ear Tags are only registered to control buffalo flies on beef and dairy cattle. We do not get customer feedback saying they believe the Cylence Ultra Tags provided any benefit with Paralysis Tick control.

Cylence Ultra Insecticide Cattle Ear Tags require two tags to be applied per animal (1 tag for each ear). One 20-pack would cover ten (10) cattle.

Protection of Wildlife, Fish, Crustacea and The Environment:

May irritate the eyes and skin.
Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
Do not open inner pouch until ready for use. When using the product wear rubber gloves.
