Clethodim 360 Herbicide CLETHODIM-360 Apparent AG

Description

Clethodim 360 Herbicide

Active Ingredient: Clethodim @ 360g/L

Similar or comparable to: Select Xtra Herbicide (Arysta) & Sequence 360 Herbicide (Nufarm)

Clethodim 360 Herbicide controls a wide range of grass weeds including ryegrass in broadleaf crops & various grasses in forestry, non-bearing fruit trees and ornamentals.

Clethodim 360 is a powerful formulation containing the active ingredient Clethodim, one of the most widely recognised grass herbicides used in Australia.

Use Clethodim 360 to control certain grass weeds in beetroot, cabbage, canola, celery, chickpeas, cotton, faba beans, field peas, forestry, lentils, lettuce, lupins, mung beans, non-bearing
fruit trees, onions, ornamentals, peanuts, potatoes and soybeans.

Clethodim is a member of the cyclohexanedione group of herbicides.  Clethodim has the inhibition of acetyl CoA carboxylase mode of action.  For weed resistance management, Clethodim 360 is a Group A herbicide.

Clethodim 360 Herbicide is used to control many grass species including;

  • Annual Phalaris
  • Annual Ryegrass
  • Barley Grass
  • Barnyard Or Water Grass
  • Blown Grass
  • Brome Grass
  • Crowsfoot Grass
  • Feathertop Rhodes Grass
  • Johnson Grass – Seedling
  • Liverseed Or Urochloa Grass
  • Paradoxa Grass
  • Red Sprangletop Grass
  • Silver Grass (v.bromoides) – Suppression
  • Summer Grass
  • Volunteer Barley
  • Volunteer Oat
  • Volunteer Sorghum
  • Volunteer Wheat
  • Wild Oat
  • Winter Grass

Clethodim is the active ingredient in a number of grass-selective, post-emergent herbicides.  When used correctly, Clethodim will kill actively growing grass and is selective to certain broadleaf species.

Currently, the two grass herbicides most commonly encountered in landscape applications around trees are Fluazifop-P-butyl (Fusilade) and Clethodim.  Properly implemented ground applications of these products are less likely to result in damage to woody species (forestry, non-bearing fruit trees and ornamentals).

  • Contains the active ingredient Clethodim.
  • Extra strength formulation – less product to store & handle.

Questions and answers from customers

Will Clethodim 360 Herbicide kill Iris Corms when spraying to kill weeds?

  1. Q Will Clethodim 360 Herbicide kill Iris Corms when spraying to kill weeds?
Asked by Julie on June 25, 2023 3:50 pm
    Answered by the admin

Clethodim 360 Herbicide is registered to control various grass weeds in broadleaf crops & various types of grass in forestry, non-bearing fruit trees and ornamentals. Unfortunately, there is very little or no information on using Clethodim 360 Herbicide in Irises. Clethodim mainly targets grass species, so it may not affect the plants you have listed, as they are primarily rhizomatous herbs. Specialist Sales are bound by the 'directions for use' labels and can't guarantee or recommend off-label use. The only way to test suitability would be in a discreet area in an off-label trial. The manufacturer (Apparent Ag Pty Ltd, email: [email protected]) may have more information on this inquiry.

    Answered by the admin

Clethodim 360 Herbicide is not registered or recommended for use in domestic situations, particularly lawns & turf.  To the best of our knowledge, no selective herbicides are registered for use in buffalo turf that will remove Basket Weave or Kidney Weed.

  4. Is Clethodim 360 Herbicide effective at killing African Lovegrass?

  5. Q Is Clethodim 360 Herbicide effective at killing African Lovegrass?
Asked by Neville on February 16, 2023 1:05 pm
    Answered by the admin

Clethodim 360 Herbicide is not registered or recommended to control African Lovegrass. This may be because African Lovegrass was not included in the initial trials when data was collected for the registration, or it may be because it was ineffective. You may try Clethodim 360 Herbicide 'off-label' on African Lovegrass. However, the results can't be guaranteed by the manufacturer.

  6. Will Clethodim 360 Herbicide kill Setaria grass?

  7. Q Will Clethodim 360 Herbicide kill Setaria grass?
Asked by Wendy on April 3, 2022 4:02 pm
    Answered by the admin

Setaria grass is not listed as a species that Clethodim 360 Herbicide will control.  This may be because Setaria was not included in the trials undertaken before the manufacturer registered the product, but we can't say with certainty that it will be effective.  An 'off-label' trial will need to be conducted to test this on your property.

  8. If I spray clethodim over my watermelons will it kill them?
  9. Q If I spray clethodim over my watermelons will it kill them?
Asked by Kevin on January 12, 2022 7:24 pm
    Answered by the admin

Clethodim 360 Herbicide selectively targets grasses.  Watermelon is from the Cucurbitaceae family, so it is unlikely to be targeted by clethodim.  As watermelon is not listed on the products label, we can't recommend it be used in this situation.  Clethodim also has withholding periods on many other edible plants, and this would be unknown if applied to watermelon.
