Initiator Imidacloprid tablets contain both Imidacloprid Insecticide and Fertiliser, to provide enhanced growth and long-lasting protection against the damage caused by various insects that attack containerised, newly planted and established plants. Initiator tablets are formulated to release Imidacloprid active ingredient and Fertiliser slowly. 

The tablets are designed to be placed in the soil adjacent to plants or in the planting hole during transplanting of seedlings, so that the growing plant can take up the fertiliser and the systemic insecticide imidacloprid. Initiator insecticide with fertiliser tablets feature a high level of safety in use.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION:

Initiator tablets provide enhanced growth and long-lasting protection against the damage caused by various insects that attack containerised, newly planted and established plants. The tablets are designed to be placed in the soil adjacent to plants or in the planting hole during transplanting of seedlings, so that the growing plant can take up the fertiliser and the systemic insecticide imidacloprid.

Directions Of Use

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

Seedling stock.

Place tablet(s) in planting hole immediately beneath the root ball at time of transplanting. Ensure adequate soil moisture after application.

Established in-ground or potted plants

Create a hole in the soil approximately 5 cm deep, as close to the absorptive roots as possible.

Place tablet(s) in hole and ensure tablet is completely covered with soil after placement. In plants greater than 1 m in height, where multiple tablets are required, space out the tablets evenly around the plant.

Initiator tablets will control or significantly reduce damage caused by insects (described below) that attack containerised, newly planted and established plants.  Through insect protection and fertiliser effects the tablet has been shown to improve survival and growth rates of newly established seedlings, containerized trees and shrubs, and newly-planted or established ornamental plants.

  • Roses – Aphids

Application: 1 tablet per m of plant height

Transplanted stock.

Place tablet(s) in planting hole, immediately beneath root ball, at time of planting.  Ensure adequate soil moisture after application.

Established in-ground or potted plants.

Create a hole in the soil approximately 5 cm deep, as close to the absorptive roots as possible (at least 10 cm away from stem of plant). Place tablet in hole and ensure tablet is completely covered with soil after placement. In plants greater than 1 m in height, where multiple tablets are required, space out the tablets evenly around the plant.

Eucalypt trees.

Various defoliating insect pests including Chrysomelid larvae and adults (eg. Chrysophtharta spp., Paropsis spp., Cadmus spp.), scarab pests (eg. Heteronyx dimidiata and H. crinitus)

Suppression of damage caused by Autumn gum moth (Mnesampela privata) and Light brown apple moth (Epiphyas postvittana)

Stem damaging scarab pests eg. adult African Black Beetle (Heteronychus arator)

Sap-sucking pests eg. Psyllids and Gum-tree scale

Root-feeding scarab pests eg.

Heteronyx elongatus

Transplanted seedling stock.

Place tablet in planting hole, immediately beneath or adjacent to root ball, at time of planting.

  • Initiator tablets are formulated to release active ingredient slowly. Release of active ingredient is dependent on the presence of adequate soil moisture. For best results, irrigate the plant after treatment, and ensure that the plant receives regular irrigation for at least 2-3 months after treatment.
  • Place tablet(s) in planting hole immediately beneath the root ball. Ensure adequate soil moisture after application.
  • Create a hole in the soil approximately 5 cm deep, as close to the absorptive roots as possible.
