Weed Force Weed Stop Herbicide

Weed Force Weed Stop Herbicide controls annual and perennial weeds in commercial, industrial, and non-crop settings for up to nine months.

The active constituents, 880 g/kg Terbacil and 40 g/kg Sulfometuron Methyl, deliver both pre-emergence and post-emergence soil residual weed control in a Group B/C formulation. Because it prevents susceptible weeds from germinating after treatment, Weed Stop reduces re-treatment frequency across driveways, fencelines, rights of way, and industrial storage areas. For sites with established weeds, tank mixing with a compatible glyphosate product adds immediate knockdown alongside the residual barrier. This water-dispersible granule mixes readily in water and suits handgun or boom spray application.

Pack Sizes: 100g, 500g, 1kg, 2.5kg. Registrant: Weed Force Pty Ltd (APVMA #: 81190/102522)

Description

Weed Force Weed Stop Herbicide: Soil Residual Weed Control for Non-Crop Areas

Weed Force Weed Stop Herbicide is a Group B/C soil residual herbicide combining 880 g/kg Terbacil with 40 g/kg Sulfometuron Methyl. Additionally, this dual-active product delivers pre-emergence and post-emergence control against annual and perennial weeds across commercial, industrial, and non-crop areas. Because Weed Stop creates a soil barrier, it suppresses target weeds for up to nine months from a single application.

As a water-dispersible granule, Weed Stop mixes readily in water for application by handgun or boom spray. Weed Force Pty Ltd recommends applying it to moist, bare soil, since dry soil reduces weed uptake of the active. When established weeds are present, tank mixing with a suitable glyphosate herbicide adds immediate knockdown alongside long-term residual control.

Frequently Asked Questions

What weeds does Weed Force Weed Stop Herbicide control?

In total, Weed Stop controls six key annual and perennial weeds: Annual Ryegrass (Lolium rigidum), Capeweed (Arctotheca calendula), Geranium (Geranium sp.), Sow Thistle (Sonchus oleraceus L.), White Clover (Trifolium repens), and Yorkshire Fog Grass (Holcus lanatus).

How long does Weed Stop provide weed control?

Under ideal conditions, Weed Stop delivers up to nine months of residual weed control. However, duration varies with soil texture, organic matter content, soil pH, and rainfall. Best results occur when applied to moist, bare soil with good soil contact.

Can Weed Stop be tank mixed with glyphosate?

Yes. Additionally, when established weeds are present, add a suitable glyphosate product to the tank mix. Glyphosate kills existing growth, while Weed Stop creates a soil barrier to prevent further germination.

Where is Weed Stop Herbicide registered for use?

Weed Stop for commercial and industrial areas, around agricultural buildings, fencelines, rights of way, roadsides, guide posts, powerlines and substations, aerodromes, and public utilities. It also covers pre-plant use in E. globulus and E. nitens plantations (selected states only).

Is Weed Stop safe to use near trees?

Overall, field trials show that major forestry species tolerate Weed Stop at label rates. However, do not apply near desirable trees or plants, or on areas where roots may extend. As guidance, the exclusion zone should be at least twice the height of any adjacent tree.

Residual Herbicide Range

Features & Benefits

  • Dual-mode soil residual action: Controls susceptible weeds through both pre-emergence (soil barrier) and post-emergence (knockdown) activity, reducing the establishment of new weeds and addressing existing small weeds simultaneously.
  • Up to nine months of residual weed control: A single application suppresses susceptible annual and perennial weeds for up to nine months under ideal soil and moisture conditions.
  • Group B/C formulation: Combines a Group C herbicide (Terbacil) and a Group B herbicide (Sulfometuron Methyl) in one product for broad-spectrum coverage across six key weed species.
  • Glyphosate tank mix compatible: Mixes with compatible glyphosate formulations (Evict Bio 360 and others) so users can combine knockdown and residual control in a single pass.
  • Water dispersible granule (WDG) formulation: The granule format dissolves readily in water, produces no odour, and reduces handling risks compared to liquid concentrate products.
  • Wide registered use pattern: Registered for use in commercial and industrial areas, around agricultural buildings, fencelines, rights of way, roadsides, guide posts, powerlines, aerodromes, and public utilities.
  • Eucalypt plantation use: Also registered as a pre-plant herbicide in E. globulus and E. nitens plantations in selected Australian states.
  • Low mammalian toxicity: Not classified as hazardous under Safe Work Australia criteria and not a Dangerous Good under the ADG Code.

Tips For Use

Restraints

  • Do not use on leached sandy soils low in organic matter.
  • Do not use when intense rainfall is likely or on soils saturated with water, as off-target movement may occur.
  • Do not store the mixed product overnight, as settling may occur.

General Instructions

  • Best results occur when Weed Stop is applied to moist, bare ground or to small weeds up to 10 cm in height or diameter.
  • Apply to actively growing weeds not stressed by drought, waterlogging, or frost.
  • Sufficient moisture is required after treatment to enable root absorption by weed species.
  • The degree of control and duration will vary with soil texture, organic matter content, soil pH, and rainfall.
  • As soil organic matter increases, the rate of herbicide breakdown increases. The longest residual control is therefore obtained in soils with low organic matter.

Mixing Instructions

  • Partially fill the spray tank with water.
  • Add the required amount of Weed Stop to the tank (premixing in a bucket or jug is recommended).
  • Top up with water to the correct volume with the agitation system engaged.
  • Keep the material in suspension at all times by continuous agitation to prevent nozzle blockage.
  • Do not store the mixed product overnight.

Recommended Mixing Order (tank mixes)

  1. Dry flowable, water dispersible, dry glyphosate, and Clopyralid 750 SG (dry products first)
  2. Allow some mixing time
  3. Add Weed Stop
  4. Add antifoaming agent if required
  5. Top up with water
  6. Add other liquids
  7. Add surfactants last

Compatibility

  • Compatible with: glyphosate formulations (Weed Force Evict Bio 360, Weed Force Evict Bio 510, Weed Force Evict 450 or 700), Metsulfuron Methyl (Weed Force Renovate Broadleaf & Woody Weed Herbicide), and Clopyralid (Xtract Thistle & Broadleaf Herbicide).
  • Do not mix with potassium salt glyphosate formulations.
  • Contact your nearest Weed Force representative or conduct a jar test for compatibility with other products.

Protection of Crops, Native and Other Non-Target Plants

  • Do not apply near desirable trees or other plants, or on areas where roots may extend. As guidance, this exclusion zone is at least twice the height of any adjacent tree.
  • When applying to fencelines, some desirable pasture species may be damaged where root systems extend into the treated area. Consult and notify neighbours before treating boundary fences.
  • Apply a 5 m buffer to areas where surface water flow could wash the chemical into drains.
  • Do not spray foliage or use on eroded areas where subsoil or tree roots are exposed.
  • Do not apply during periods of intense rainfall or under conditions that cause drift or movement to non-target areas.
  • Do not apply (broad acre situations) to bare ground on slopes exceeding 30% (approximately 15 degrees).

Protection of Wildlife, Fish, Crustaceans and the Environment

  • Dangerous to aquatic life. Do not contaminate streams, rivers, or waterways with the chemical or used containers.
  • Do not use in irrigation channels or in drains, including roadside ditches and table drains.
  • Establish spray buffer zones as required: general buffers 20 m, permanent streams 10 m, temporary streams and drainage lines 10 m.
  • Do not apply to waterlogged or saturated soil.

Protection of Livestock

  • Keep stock away from treated areas, as some noxious weeds may become palatable after treatment.

Storage

  • Store in the closed original container in a cool, well-ventilated area. Do not store for prolonged periods in direct sunlight.

Safety Directions

  • Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Do not inhale dust.
  • When preparing the spray, wear a face shield or goggles.
  • Wash your hands after use.

First Aid

  • If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or the Poisons Information Centre. Phone Australia 131 126.
  • For further information, refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
