Y-Tex Warrior Insecticidal Cattle Tags (OP)
Active Ingredients: Chlorpyrifos @ 100g/kg & Diazinon @ 300g/kg
One tag should be applied per animal (1 ear only) for up to 12 weeks of control.
Y-Tex Warrior Insecticidal Cattle Tags are a unique 40% Organophosphate (OP) ear tag that releases a synergized formulation of diazinon and chlorpyrifos from an exclusive Tri-Polymer matrix of non-toxic inert ingredients. Â
Why choose Y-Tex Warrior Insecticidal Cattle Tags;
- Registered to control Buffalo Flies for up to 12 weeks and control cattle lice on beef and dairy cattle.
- A combination of the high fly-killing action of diazinon with the superior lice control properties of chlorpyrifos. This formulation exhibits greater potency than either insecticide used alone and is especially effective against pyrethroid-resistant pests. Â
- The tags have a net weight of 15 grams per tag for long-lasting activity.
- They contain Organophosphate (OP) active ingredients, making them an important part of rotations strategies with Synthetic Pyrethroid (SP) and macrocyclic Lactone (ML) tags.
- Insecticidal Fly Tags are the only fly treatment that gives sustained long-term control of Buffalo Fly — sprays and pour-ons only have temporary results.
- For use on both beef and dairy cattle.
- The rainfast and dipfast formula requires the application of only one tag per animal, making it one of the most economical methods of Buffalo Fly control available.
- Extremely effective against pyrethroid-resistant strains of Buffalo Fly.
- It can be safely used in conjunction with other pesticides and medicinal applications.
Effectiveness:
- When applied at one tag per animal, Y-Tex Warrior Insecticidal Cattle Ear Tags control Buffalo Flies for up to 12 weeks and control cattle lice on beef and dairy cattle.

General Instructions when using Y-Tex Warrior Insecticidal Cattle Tags :Â
- Y-Tex Warrior Insecticidal Cattle Ear Tags will effectively control Buffalo fly and Cattle lice if used regularly on all animals in the group.
- The treatment regime with a periodic rotation program will reduce the potential for insecticide resistance to develop in Buffalo flies.
- Tag every animal in the mob and always apply the recommended number of tags per animal.
- Always remove tags after the efficacy claim period and apply tags to the back of the animal’s ears.
- Where possible, synchronise tagging with your neighbours using the same tag and apply at the same time.
- Follow the Y-Tex 3-way Insecticide Cattle Ear Tag rotation program.
- Store and destroy spent tags as per label directions.
How do Warrior Insecticidal Cattle Tags work;
Warrior Insecticidal Cattle Tags are moulded PVC Tags impregnated with slow-release contact insecticides (Chlorpyrifos and Diazinon). The insecticide commences release from the tag when applied to the animal, and small volumes are released daily over the three to four-month efficacy claim period. The active ingredient is then transferred over the animal via their hair follicles and the herd’s natural grooming and contact habits. Due to the small doses released daily, active ingredients are not absorbed into meat or milk. Recent studies have found a hair clipping from the hind leg three days after tagging contained a dose of a toxic insecticide to kill flies.

They work well, just a pity they don’t last for the whole fly season. Haven’t used them for some time but can see the result after day one, may use them again ?
