Description

Dectomax Pour-On

Active Ingredient: Doramectin @ 5 mg/ml

Similar or comparable to Bovipour Pour-On for Cattle (Zagro) & Neovedor Pour-On (Neove Pharma)

Dectomax  Pour-On Endectocide is for the treatment and persistent control of gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms and buffalo fly in cattle.

Dectomax Pour-On Endectocide also controls eye worms, sucking and biting lice, mange mites and cattle ticks.

Dectomax Pour-On Endectocide is a highly active broad-spectrum parasiticide for topical administration to cattle.  It contains Doramectin, a novel fermentation-derived chemical.   Doramectin is isolated from the fermentation of selected strains derived from the soil organism Streptomyces avermitilis. Dectomax Pour-On is a class above the rest by delivering superior performance for your cattle. The reliable all-rounder has been used across Australia for many years to control both internal and external parasites. It’s also convenient and easy to administer, indicated for all ages and classes of stock and provides persistent control of buffalo fly for up to 14 days. What’s more, its unique mode of action provides up to 35 days of protection against the 5 major worms that affect your herd’s productivity. Features & Benefits

Control Of The Worms That Matter – No other drench consistently delivers, 35 days persistent activity against all three of the most prevalent internal parasites of grazing cattle in Australia,Cooperia spp, Ostertagia and Haemonchus.

Broader Coverage – Dectomax  protects against re-infection from more of the important profitability-robbing parasites, both internal and external*, than any other cattle drench. Maximum weight gains from superior parasite control.

Longer Protection – Dectomax  contains the unique molecule doramectin, with a chemical ring at the C-25 position of its core active structure. This makes Dectomax active for longer, so it protects for longer.

Fewer Treatments – Because it protects for longer, Dectomax  keeps pastures cleaner for longer. Which means you can extend the time between treatments. And fewer treatments save time and money.

Wide Safety Margin – Dectomax  has a wide safety margin in all ages of stock, including young calves, pregnant stock and bulls. Its broad spectrum of activity, favourable pharmacokinetics and exceptional toleration make it an ideal product for application as an antiparasitic for cattle.

Rainfast – The efficacy of Dectomax  Pour-On Endectocide is not adversely affected if applied when the hide is wet or if rain falls shortly after treatment. However, treatment of animals with wet hides or when rain threatens should be avoided as it is not good agricultural practice.

Questions and answers from customers

Can Dectomax Pour-On Endectocide be used on 3-day old calves for tick protection?

  1. Q Can Dectomax Pour-On Endectocide be used on 3-day old calves for tick protection?
Asked by Dale on July 17, 2023 11:39 am
    Answered by the admin

The manufacturer generally does not recommend the treatment of very young animals (less than 40 kg body weight) with Dectomax Pour-On Endectocide. This is because the safety and efficacy of the product in calves as young as three days old has not been established. It is important to consult a veterinarian or a qualified professional who can provide accurate and up-to-date information for your situation. They can assess the health of your calves, consider their age and weight, and provide guidance on the appropriate use of Dectomax or other suitable medications for tick control. Remember that the health and well-being of young animals are particularly sensitive.

Dectomax Pour-On or Injectable Drench is not registered for use on Goats.   The APVMA legally binds us to approved labels and rates and does not recommend you use Dectomax on goats.  If you are planning on 'off-label' use, check with your veterinarian to see if they are willing to provide a rate.  The off-label application will void any guarantees from the manufacturer of animal safety, meat and milk residuals, parasite control etc.
