Doramate Injectable Endectocide DORAMATE-INJ Troy Animal Healthcare

Description

Doramate Injectable Endectocide contains doramectin at 10 mg/mL, a proven macrocyclic lactone that treats and controls a wide range of internal and external parasites in cattle and pigs. Manufactured by Troy Laboratories Pty Ltd, this APVMA-registered injectable delivers accurate dosing directly into each animal, so producers can be confident every head receives the correct treatment rate. It targets gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, cattle tick, sucking and biting lice, and mange mites in cattle, while also controlling roundworms, lungworms, kidney worms, lice, and mange in pigs.

Troy specifically formulated Doramate with a low-irritant base to reduce injection site pain. As a result, it carries a wide margin of safety for cattle of all ages (including young calves) and for pigs at all stages of the reproductive cycle. The product ships in a durable 500 mL plastic bottle, which removes any risk of glass breakage on-farm.

    Answered by the admin

Doramate Injectable Drench offers persistent residual protection for a time after injection. Depending on the species of worm, this ranges from 14 to 28 days. The label also specifies not to re-treat cattle within 28 days after any previous treatment. Therefore, we would only recommend re-treating after 28 days if required. Please ensure you read the SDS and Label prior to purchase and use to confirm suitability for your situation & follow all manufacturer's guidelines. These are available under 'SDS and Technical' on the product page on our website.

Tips For Use

Restraints:

  • Do not use in cattle during lactation or less than 60 days before calving when milk or milk products are intended for human consumption or processing.
  • Do not use in animals within 28 days (4 weeks) of a previous treatment.

Cattle Tick Control:

  • The persistence of doramectin prevents the development of viable cattle ticks for 28 days following treatment. However, engorged female ticks that drop off for up to 3 days after treatment may lay viable eggs. Factor this into strategic tick control planning.
  • If presenting cattle for clearance to tick-free areas, consult your local tick advisory authority before use.

General Instructions:

  • Use dry, sterile syringes and needles. Sterilise all injection apparatus by boiling (or equivalent) before use. Do not use disposable plastic syringes sterilised by boiling. Dry equipment thoroughly.
  • Administer subcutaneously (SC) in cattle or intramuscularly (IM) in pigs into the neck region, preferably high up behind the ear.
  • Keep needles sharp, clean, and dry. Replace frequently. For subcutaneous administration, use the shortest needle possible, not exceeding 15 mm.
  • Avoid injecting animals during wet weather or under dusty conditions.
  • When the injectable solution temperature drops below 5 °C, gently warm the equipment and product to 15 °C to restore normal flow.
  • Worm parasites may develop resistance to any anthelmintic. If resistance is suspected, contact your local veterinary practitioner or the manufacturer.

Environmental Protection:

  • Doramectin is extremely toxic to aquatic species. Do not contaminate dams, rivers, streams, or other waterways with the chemical or used container.

Storage:

  • Store below 30 °C (room temperature). Store upright.

Disposal:

  • Dispose of the empty container by wrapping it with paper and placing it in the garbage.

Safety Directions:

  • Poisonous if swallowed. Avoid contact with skin.

First Aid:

  • If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or the Poisons Information Centre. Phone Australia 131 126.
  • For further information, refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
