Features & Benefits

  • Contains the active ingredients Abamectin, Levamisole, Oxfendazole, Cobalt & Selenium.
  • For the treatment and control of internal parasites of sheep, including those resistant to Macrocyclic Lactone (ML), Benzimidazole (BZ) or Levamisole (LEV) drench families.
  • For the treatment and control of internal parasites of cattle, including those resistant to the Macrocyclic Lactone (ML) drench family.
  • To supplement diets that may be deficient in selenium and cobalt.
  • Three actives are better than one.
  • Short-acting drenches are better resistance fighters.
  • Oral drenches go one better: direct to the worms.

Trifecta Triple Active Oral Drench for sheep and cattle allows producers to:

  • Strategically drench to minimise the number of resistant worms on-farm and the risk of associated stock losses.
  • Quarantine drench to help prevent the introduction of resistant worms in sheep and cattle.  Failure to quarantine drench is known to cause the transfer of resistant parasites between sheep properties, and it is likely that this happens between cattle properties.
  • Dose conveniently: dose rate of 1mL per 10kg for sheep and cattle makes it simple to orally dose your livestock and gives the added benefit of selenium and cobalt.
  • Orally treat sheep and cattle currently harbouring resistant worms.  Oral drenching can be more effective against resistant worms than pour-ons or injectables.

As Trifecta Triple Active Drench For Sheep and Cattle and Multimin Evolution Injection for Cattle both contain selenium, there is the possibility that you can overdose, but this may depend on the selenium deficiency of the animals.  We suggest consulting your local vet or animal health advisor to confirm the maximum amount of selenium that should be made available to your herd, depending on your circumstances.

Trifecta is administered orally at a rate of 1mL per 10kg in sheep and cattle.  It is not a pour-on or an injectable drench.  We strongly suggest reading the 'directions for use' instructions (available on the Specialist Sales website) before purchase and application.

Tips For Use

Administration:

  • Trifecta Triple Active Drench for Sheep and Cattle is applied using standard drenching equipment.  Clean equipment thoroughly before and after use.
  • Always dose on a live weight basis.  Do not underdose. Dose the mob according to the heaviest animal by bodyweight in the group (ewes, wethers, rams, lambs, cows, bulls, calves).
  • For cattle with a larger variation in size within the group, draft into two or more lines based on body weight to avoid overdosing.  Check the accuracy of drenching equipment before and during drenching procedures.
  • A representative sample of animals should be weighed before treatment.
  • Do not drench in marking cradles due to the increased risk of aspiration into the lungs.
  • Check the accuracy of drenching equipment before and during use
  • Where there is a large variation in size within the group, the dose rate should be based on the label directions for each weight range.
  • Drafting into two or more lines may be appropriate to avoid excessive overdosing.

  • Exercise care in handling weak, pregnant, young animals to avoid unnecessary stress.
  • Avoid yarding animals off-fee overnight and ensure animals have access to water when yarded before drenching.
