What is the difference between the UTT3S, Red (Universal) & Green (Identiplier) applicators?

Either applicator can be used for Electronic cattle and sheep tags and visual tags.
The difference between the applicators is that the Identiplier (green) has a swivel-action pin to prevent tearing should the animal pull away.
The UTT3S and Universal applicators (red) have a static pin.

Compatible tags for use with the Allflex Identiplier Tag Applicator:

Two-Piece Visual Tags – Super Maxi, Maxi, Large, Medium, Small, Mini, Button
NLIS – Cattle
Two-Piece RFID Sheep Tags

Nb – Y-Tex Ultra Tagger Pins (2 x Replacement & Conversion Pins) should be used for Y-Tex Insecticidal Ear Tags. Flip-Pin Applicators not recommended for Y-Tex Insecticidal Tags.

Tips For Use

Ensure the tag pin is travelling straight between the jaws.
The spare pin is located under the black flap on the inside of the applicators handle.
For Visual Tags – Reinstall the black jaw insert if not present.

EID (NLIS) Tags;

Ensure that the black jaw insert is removed from the jaws of the applicator.
The female NLIS has a lump on its printed face and an arrow on the underside. To load, depress the spring clip and insert the female tag holding the lump between thumb and forefinger. Position the tag so the lump faces the open end of the applicator. Failure to do so may result in damage to the electronic tag.
Slip the male tag completely onto the applicator pin. It is recommended that adult cattle are restrained in a head bail for tagging.
Dip the jaws of the applicator holding the tag into an antiseptic or disinfectant solution. Nb – Use disinfectant at the recommended dilution ratios. Failure to do so may cause irritation.
With the correct position located, apply the tag firmly, always with the male tag entering from the back (outside of the ear). Electronic tags should be attached in the centre between the two cartilage bones of the inside third of the ear. It is recommended the electronic tag is applied to the right (the animal’s right side) as per the Instructions for Use.
