  • Failure to evenly distribute the dose in a wide band may result in failure to control lice.
  • Lower the wand to apply a band on the neck, and then raise the wand to apply the widest possible band along the backline.
  • It is advisable to practice using the gun with the aim of giving complete coverage from the base of the ears to the butt of the tail.

Precautions If Rams Are Sedated Before Shearing:

  • For OHS reasons, it is common practice to sedate larger rams prior to shearing with Acepromazine products. Acepromazine is known to potentiate the toxicity of Organophosphates such as diazinon and could cause implications if Eureka Gold (containing diazinon) is used on the same day of sedation.
  • Acepromazine sedated rams should be allowed to fully recover from sedation prior to the application of Eureka Gold.
  • Ideally, rams should be rested overnight and brought back into the yard the day after shearing (within 24 hours) for treatment with Eureka Gold.
