Poacher Imazapyr 750 Herbicide is for the knockdown and residual control of various annual and perennial weeds in non-crop situations as indicated in the Directions for Use table. Poacher Imazapyr 750 Herbicide is a soluble granular herbicide that will kill a range of standing weeds and emerging seedlings. It stops growth rapidly, although symptoms may take over 30 days to develop. Affected plants are discoloured and often growth is distorted.

The active material in Poacher Imazapyr 750 Herbicide is rapidly absorbed through foliage and roots and translocated throughout plants. Foliage treatments will provide pre-emergence control as the active material is released to the soil following plant decay. Residual control of weeds will increase when a higher rate (than recommended) of Poacher Herbicide is used. Imazapyr is a residual, foliar and root absorbed herbicide that is non-selective at high rates.

Application: Faster control of standing weeds will result if growing conditions are favourable at and after application. Rainfall within two hours of the spray mixture drying on leaves may result in reduced weed control.

Spraying Instructions: For medium volume spraying, apply through a spray boom calibrated to ensure even coverage. Use spray nozzles suitable to prevent spray drift onto surrounding desirable vegetation. For high volume application, use a handgun or knapsack to apply sufficient spray to wet the surface visibly without producing run-off.

Does Poacher Imazapyr 750 Herbicide eradicate nut grass or just control it? I need something to eradicate nut grass. I have Sedgehammer (Halosulfuron-methyl) from Masters (failed Woolworths brand), but it is a few years old. I'm not sure if it is still any good, and it does not have a measuring spoon in the box.

Poacher Imazapyr 750 Herbicide is a grass knockdown residual herbicide registered to control many grass species, including nutgrass. It is not recommended for use in domestic or garden situations and is not selective (i.e. it can't be used in turf, pastures, etc). The products containing Halosulfuron-methyl (i.e. Sempra, Nutless, Sedgehammer & Tempra) are considered the best option to remove nutgrass selectively, and they are safe to use in turf and domestic situations. If you have Sedgehammer older than 5 years, we suggest disposing of it as it may have started to deteriorate and lose efficacy.

Restraints:

Do not apply by aircraft as spray drift may cause damage to desirable surrounding species.

Adjuvants:

Wetting agents: Not required.
Spray oils: Usually not required.

Mixing:

Pour the required amount of Imazapyr 750 Herbicide into a spray container that already
holds the total amount of water required.
Mix thoroughly.
If Imazapyr 750 Herbicide is added during filling, foaming may occur.
If excessive foaming is a problem, add a suitable antifoaming agent.
Consult your distributor for specific information.
Imazapyr 750 Herbicide may be applied in hard or soft water.
The product is corrosive to mild steel.
Use only stainless steel, fibreglass, plastic or plastic-lined containers for mixing, storage and application.

Storage:

Store in the closed, original container in a dry, cool, well-ventilated area out of direct sunlight.

Safety Directions:

Will irritate the eyes and skin.
Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
When opening the container and preparing spray, wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist (or equivalent clothing), elbow-length PVC gloves, goggles and a disposable dust mask.
