Questions and answers from customers

How frequently must I administer Fasinex 240 Oral Flukicide For Cattle to treat a chronic infection?

  1. Q How frequently must I administer Fasinex 240 Oral Flukicide For Cattle to treat a chronic infection?... Read more
Asked by Kim on November 25, 2024 3:32 pm
    Answered by the admin

There is no specific advice on how frequently to administer Fasinex 240 to treat a chronic liver fluke infection in your cattle. This is because the frequency of treatment depends on several factors best assessed by a veterinarian, including (1) The severity of the infection: A vet can assess this through fecal egg counts and potentially other diagnostic tests. (2) The age and health of the cattle: Young, old, or weak animals may require a different treatment approach. (3) The specific strain of liver fluke: Some strains may be more resistant to treatment, requiring a different frequency or even a different medication. (4) Your geographical location and the prevailing parasite challenge: Different regions have different levels of liver fluke prevalence, which influences treatment strategies. (5) Your overall herd management practices: Good pasture management and other preventative measures can impact the need for retreatment.
