Description
Flukazole C Plus Selenium – Combination Fluke and Roundworm Drench for Cattle and Sheep
Active Ingredients: Selenium @ 1.0g/L, Oxfendazole @ 45.3g/L & Triclabendazole @ 120g/L
Flukazole C plus Selenium controls benzimidazole-sensitive mature and immature roundworms, lungworms, tapeworms and early immature (including 2-week-old fluke), immature and mature liver fluke (Fasciola hepatica) in cattle and sheep. Flukazole C plus Selenium is an aid in controlling selenium deficiencies.
Flukazole C plus Selenium is the only product proven by research to effectively control 2-week-old liver fluke. Trials demonstrate no other product provides such a high level of control against early immature fluke.
Flukazole C plus Selenium is recommended for areas where liver fluke is found, typically throughout south-eastern Australia, generally where rainfall is 600mm or more or in drier areas where irrigation channels are accessible by livestock. This includes south-eastern Queensland, eastern New South Wales, most of Victoria and parts of Tasmania and south-eastern South Australia.
Indications:
For control of benzimidazole – sensitive mature and immature roundworms, lungworms, tapeworms and early immature (including 2-week old fluke), immature and mature liver fluke (Fasciola hepatica) in cattle and sheep.
Cattle:
- (Haemonchus placei) Barber’s pole worm;
- (Trichostrongylus axei) Stomach hair worm;
- (Ostertagia ostertagi) Small brown stomach worm including inhibited (hypobiotic) stages;
- (Trichostrongylus spp) Black scour worm;
- (Cooperia spp) Small intestinal worm;
- (Nematodirus spp) Thin necked intestinal worm;
- (Oesophagostomum radiatum) Nodule worm;
- (Dictyocaulus viviparus) Large lungworm;
- (Moniezia spp) Tapeworm;
- (Fasciola hepatica) Early immature (including 2-week-old fluke), immature and mature liver fluke.
Sheep:
- (Haemonchus contortus) Barber’s pole worm;
- (Trichostrongylus axei) Stomach hair worm;
- (Ostertagia [Teladorsagia] spp) Small brown stomach worm;
- (Trichostrongylus spp) Black scour worm;
- (Cooperia spp) Small intestinal worm;
- (Nematodirus spp) Thin necked intestinal worm;
- (Oesophagostomum columbianum) Nodule worm;
- (Oesophagostomum venulosum) Large bowel worm;
- (Chabertia ovina) Large mouthed bowel worm;
- (Dictyocaulus filaria) Large lungworm;
- (Moniezia expansa) Tapeworm;
- (Fasciola hepatica) Early immature (including 2-week-old fluke), immature and mature liver fluke.
Reduces worm egg hatching in cattle and sheep. For this to be of benefit, animals should not be placed on clean pasture until 6 hours after drenching.
Why Choose Flukazole C Plus Selenium?
- The strength of synergy
Flukazole C utilises the synergistic effect of a triclabendazole and oxfendazole combination, providing outstanding liver fluke control.
Flukazole C is one of only three products to carry an APVMA approval that specifies the control of damaging two-week-old liver fluke and all older stages through to adult.
The others are Virbac’s Nitromec & Nitrofluke Injection.
- Broad spectrum worm control
In addition to providing outstanding liver fluke control, Flukazole C plus Selenium controls all major internal parasites susceptible to a benzimidazole drench, including gastrointestinal roundworms (including inhibited Ostertagia, lungworms and tapeworm).
- Aids in controlling selenium deficiency
Selenium deficiency is common in the higher rainfall areas in which the liver fluke is prevalent.
- New, improved formulation
The new, improved formulation flows through drenching equipment easily, even at low temperatures.
When to Use Flukazole C Plus Selenium?
The critical treatments are timed for autumn (April/May) and spring (August/September). A third treatment is recommended during mid-summer if there is a heavy infection. The autumn and summer treatments should control the damaging early immature and immature stages and adult liver flukes.
Although it cannot be used in lactating dairy cattle, Flukazole C plus Selenium provides an ideal dry-off treatment (21 days pre-calving interval). Flukazole C plus Selenium is ideal for rotation with a fluke adulticide treatment such as Virbamec Plus for the early spring treatment. Virbamec Plus can be used in lactating dairy cattle.
