Bromacil is mainly absorbed through weed roots and is translocated upward to the foliage via the xylem. Herbicidal effects on existing weeds may not become apparent until the active ingredient has reached the root zone following rainfall, is absorbed and distributed within the plant.

Tips For Use

How to get the best results for Uragan WG Herbicide:

  • If weeds are already present, Uragan should be applied with a non-selective knockdown herbicide, such as Glyphosate, Glufosinate or Paraquat.
  • Add a non-ionic surfactant (Wetter 1000) at 100 mL/100 L (0.1% v/v) of spray solution for best results.
  • Apply within ten (10) weeks of germination of winter weeds.
  • Long-term residual control may be less effective if heavy organic matter loads prevent the active ingredient from reaching the soil or root zone.
  • Best results will be achieved if rain occurs within a week of application.

General Instructions:

  • For best results, apply to moist, well-prepared trash and clod-free soil shortly before weed growth occurs.
  • Well-established weeds should be removed before applying the product.
  • Actively growing weeds up to about 10 cm in height may be controlled, but a wetting agent must be used.
  • Do not cultivate soil surface after application as efficacy may be reduced and/or crop injury may result.
  • For best results, sufficient moisture, either by rainfall or irrigation, is required within 3 – 4 days of treatment to carry the product into the soil.
  • With irrigation, thoroughly wet the entire area.
  • Where rainfall is limited during the growth period, control of deep-rooted hard-to-kill weeds will not be satisfactory.

Restraints:

  • Do not allow spray to contact foliage or fruit of desirable plants.
  • For best results, sufficient moisture, either by rainfall or irrigation, is required within 3 – 4 days of treatment to carry the product into the soil.

Application:

Large areas

  • Use a fixed boom sprayer or handgun.
  • The strainer and nozzle screens should be 50 mesh or coarser to prevent nozzle blockage.
  • Always agitate in the spray tank to keep the material in suspension.
  • (a) Fixed Boom Sprayer
    • Use 1000 – 2000 L/ha water for industrial weed control.
    • Use 250 – 450 L/Ha at 200 – 300 kPa pressure for selective weed control.
  • (b) Handgun
    • Use 1000 – 2000 L/Ha and 60 – 800 kPa pressure.

Small areas

  • Use a knapsack or pressurised hand sprayer, or water can.
  • Shake or stir frequently.

  • Clothing must be laundered after each day’s use.

Protection Of Crops, Native And Other Non-Target Plants:

  • Do not apply, drain, or flush equipment on or near desirable trees or other plants or where their roots may extend.
  • Movement of soil from treated areas should be avoided because damage to off-target species may occur.
  • Do not spray under weather conditions or from sprayer equipment that may cause spray to drift over nearby susceptible plants or crops, cropping lands or pastures.
  • Asparagus: Do not apply to newly seeded asparagus, to young plants during the first growing season after setting or to plants with exposed roots.
  • Citrus: Use with caution on light sandy soils as yellowing may occur.
  • Treated area for asparagus and citrus – Do not replant any crops within three (3) years of the last application, as injury may occur.
