I think your pitiful micro inclusion of “how to directions and safety use” for the 25g packet of
TEMPRA 750 G may leave you exposed to anyone who thinks they may have a claim for personal health damage and or crop/lawn damages? In these days of litigation I find it beyond comprehension that you would do this.
Incidentally your directions on line (which are legible) defy all my efforts to print? Eg “Ctrl p”

Directions for Use:

Turf / Lawn mixing rate for Nutgrass control:

Established Turf (Bent grass, Buffalo grass, Carpet grass, Couch, Couch hybrid, Durban grass, Kikuyu grass, Perennial Ryegrass, Queensland blue couch & Tall Fescue  – mix 1.3 g in 10L of water (plus surfactant) per 100 square metres (refer to Directions of Use before use)

Mixing: Surefire Tempra 750 WG Herbicide is a dry flowable granule that disperses in water. Add the measured amount gradually to a part-filled spray tank while maintaining continuous bypass agitation. Add the surfactant near the end of the filling process to avoid excessive foaming. Remove the hose from the mixing tank immediately after filling to avoid siphoning back into the water source. If allowed to stand, ensure that the mixture is thoroughly agitated before re-commencing spraying. Use the mixture within one day.

(Refer to directions of use for full application and mixing instructions prior to use)

Surfactant Addition:

Surefire Tempra 750 WG Herbicide must be applied with a non-ionic surfactant to ensure uptake.  Use 200mL per 100L water of a 600g/L non-ionic surfactant or equivalent (ie Reactor 600 or Agral 600).  For hand-gun or knapsack application, add surfactant at 20mL per 10L water.

When using Tempra 750WG Herbicide, any non-ionic wetting agents are acceptable to add to the mix and will help with the spray's effectiveness.  These include Wetter 1000 Surfactant or Reactor Wetter 600 Surfactant.  Never use detergent or dishwashing liquid; they are formulated as cleaning solutions and often do more damage than good.  We suggest you read our blog on 'Why detergents are not suitable wetting agents' for further clarification - https://specialistsales.com.au/information-advice/why-detergents-are-not-suitable-wetting-agents/

The active ingredient used in Tempra 750WG Herbicide belongs to the Sulfuronurea group of chemicals. The persistence of sulfonylurea herbicides in soil depends on various factors such as the chemical structure of the herbicide, soil type, soil moisture, temperature, and microbial activity. Generally, sulfonylurea herbicides have a low persistence in soil, with a half-life ranging from a few weeks to a few months (and in certain situations a few years). The persistence of sulfonylurea herbicides in the soil can have implications for subsequent crops, particularly if the herbicide has a long residual effect. The directions for use label for Tempra 750 lists certain crops and specifies time intervals before re-planting. Unfortunately, the crops used to collate the data were limited and did not include domestic or garden plants. The crops/plants listed on the label have recommended intervals varying from 2 to 36 months. Surefire Tempra 750WG is registered to selectively target Mullumbimby Couch & Nutgrass which are both members of the sedge family of plants.  Tempra 750WG and other Halosulfuron Herbicides (ie Sempra & Nutless) are registered for use in many situations, however none of these list asparagus.  The only way to test the safety of the herbicide would be a small trial patch.

Surefire Tempra 750WG is registered to selectively target Mullumbimby Couch & Nutgrass which are both members of the sedge family of plants.  Tempra 750WG and other Halosulfuron Herbicides (ie Sempra & Nutless) are registered for use in most lawns & turf species.  Unfortunately, the registration does not include other garden species so the utmost care would need to be taken.  Avoid spraying the plants in your garden that you are unsure about, however, unless they are part of the sedge family, death or damage should be minimal (but not guaranteed).  As with using any herbicide off-label, a trial approach on a small scale in a discreet area would be recommended.

Tips For Use

  • Surefire Tempra 750 WG Herbicide (Halosulfuron) should be applied to actively growing weeds when new growth has reached a minimum of 5cm of new leaf growth for Nutgrass or 2cm for Mullumbimby couch.
  • Apply follow-up treatments if sufficient new growth warrants retreatment.
  • Irrigation or rainfall within two hours of application will reduce control.
  • Drought stress after treatment may also reduce control.
  • Symptoms of weed control are a gradual yellowing of foliage and seed heads followed by desiccation. Initial symptoms may take 7-10 days to be noticeable, with full effects occurring 4 to 6 weeks after treatment.

Restraints:

  • Do not apply more than 200 g/ha per season.
  • Do not apply after the onset of frosts.
  • Do not apply this product through any type of irrigation system.
  • Do not apply if heavy rain is expected within 48 hours.
  • Do not apply to paddocks where there is a high risk of weeds resistant to group B herbicides.
  • Do not make more than one application of a group B herbicide per season.

Surefire Tempra 750 WG Herbicide (Halosulfuron) is compatible with Glyphosate, Diclofop-Methyl, Dicamba/MCPA and Bromoxynil/MCPA mixtures and amine formulations of 2,4-D.  Read and follow all label directions, restraints, plant-back periods, withholding periods, regional use restrictions and safety directions for the tank mix products.

Tank mixing with paraquat or ametryn may result in reduced weed control.

Organophosphate insecticides should not be tank-mixed or applied 7 days prior or 3 days after application of Surefire Tempra 750 WG Herbicide (Halosulfuron), as severe crop injury may result.

The following crops may be planted at specific time intervals following application of approved rates of Surefire Tempra 750 WG Herbicide (Halosulfuron) in approved situations. Use the time intervals listed below to determine the required time interval before planting.

Protection of Crop, Native and Other Non-Target Plants:

  • Avoid spraying of non-target vegetation. In turf, do not use clippings from treated areas for mulching around vegetable or fruit trees.
  • Do not apply under weather conditions, or from spraying equipment, that may cause spray to drift onto nearby susceptible plants/crops, cropping lands or pastures.
  • After spraying, the first flush irrigation tailwater or stormwater run-off from land treated with Tempra Herbicide should be prevented from entering waterways.
  • Where farms do not have the capacity to retain run-off, do not irrigate to the point of run-off for at least 6 days after application.

Protection of Livestock, Wildlife, Fish, Crustacea, the Environment and Others:

  • Do not contaminate dams, rivers, or streams with the product or used container.
  • Do not feed grass clippings from treated areas to poultry or other livestock or allow grazing of treated  turf.
  • Keep people and pets off treated areas until the spray solution has dried.
  • Tempra Herbicide is very highly toxic to duckweed.

  • Store in the closed, original container in a cool, well-ventilated area.
  • Do not store for prolonged periods in direct sunlight.
