Why is Fasimec Cattle Oral Flukicide containing Ivermectin and Triclabendazole a good option;

Ivermectin and Triclabendazole are two commonly used medications in cattle drenches, which are administered orally to treat internal parasites in cattle. Here are some reasons why a cattle drench containing Ivermectin and Triclabendazole may be considered effective:

  • Broad-spectrum activity: Ivermectin and Triclabendazole have a broad spectrum of activity against different types of internal parasites commonly found in cattle, including worms and liver flukes. They target various parasites and can help control multiple species simultaneously.
  • Efficacy against resistant parasites: Internal parasites in cattle can develop resistance to certain drugs over time, making them less effective. However, Ivermectin and Triclabendazole are still considered effective against many resistant strains of parasites. Their use in combination can enhance their efficacy and reduce the likelihood of resistance.
  • Synergistic effect: When Ivermectin and Triclabendazole are used together in a drench, they can have a synergistic effect, meaning their combined action is more potent than the sum of their individual effects. This can enhance the overall effectiveness of the drench in controlling parasites.
  • Targeted action: Ivermectin primarily targets nematodes (roundworms) and external parasites like lice and mites, while Triclabendazole is especially effective against liver flukes. Combining these two medications in a drench can address multiple types of internal parasites that may be affecting the cattle.
