Description

Nufarm Glyphosate 450 Herbicide

Active Ingredient: Glyphosate (present as the isopropylamine salt) @ 450g/L

Similar or comparable to Roundup CT Broadacre Herbicide (Monsanto) & Knockout 450 Herbicide (Conquest)

Nufarm Glyphosate 450 Herbicide is a water-soluble, non-residual glyphosate herbicide for non-selective control of many annual and perennial weeds in various situations. It is effective against over 130 weed species and rapidly breaks down to natural products in the environment.

Nufarm Glyphosate 450 Herbicide is a non-selective herbicide that will kill most emerged weeds and plants. It provides no residual weed control and may therefore be used before sowing any crop, but not before transplanting tomato seedlings. Nufarm Glyphosate 450 Herbicide can be mixed with other herbicides to achieve knockdown and residual weed control (Tank Mixtures).

Nufarm Glyphosate 450 Herbicide is absorbed by foliage and green stems and moves into the root system. Weeds should be actively growing when treated. Nufarm Glyphosate 450 Herbicide is a non-volatile liquid that mixes readily with water. Mix with the required water volume, add a non-ionic wetting agent, and spray.

  • Apply to ensure complete and uniform wetting of foliage.
  • Visible symptoms may take from 3-7 days to develop.
  • When spraying Nufarm Glyphosate 450 in high volumes typical of spot spraying (except where a specific wetter such as Pulse Penetrant (Consume) is recommended), the addition of 200mL per 100L of a 1000g/L wetter (or equivalent) such as BS1000 (Wetter 1000) is recommended.
  • Non-Agricultural Areas:
    • Nufarm Glyphosate 450 does not provide residual weed control.
    • Nufarm Glyphosate 450 may be tank-mixed with certain residual herbicides for residual control of annual weeds.
  • Agricultural Areas:
    • Nufarm Glyphosate 450 may be used for control of annual and perennial weeds as directed in agricultural land before sowing of any edible or non-edible crop, but not before transplanting tomato seedlings.
  • Dry Drains and Channels:
    • Do not apply to weeds growing in or over water.
    • Do not spray across open bodies of water, and do not allow spray to enter the water.
    • Do not allow water to return to dry channels and drains within four days of application.

    • Nufarm Glyphosate 450 may be used before the establishment of nurseries for site preparation before planting and amongst established trees using a directed or shielded spray or selective wiper equipment.
    • Do not allow the wiper surface to contact any part of the tree.
    • Do not allow spray or spray drift to contact foliage or green bark of desirable trees since severe injury may result.
  • Pasture:
    • Directed (Spot) Application: Nufarm Glyphosate 450 is non-selective and may damage or kill any plant in the sprayed area.

Questions and answers from customers

Is it safe for native animals to graze after applying Nufarm Glyphosate 450 Herbicide?

  1. Q Is it safe for native animals to graze after applying Nufarm Glyphosate 450 Herbicide?
Asked by Kath on April 18, 2023 12:03 pm
    Answered by the admin

Native animals may be at risk if they touch or eat still-wet plants with spray from glyphosate products. The best practice would be to remove pets, livestock, and people while the spray is wet. However, once it has dried, they can return to the area. Understandably may not be achievable with native animals.

  2. Hi, I note that Nufarm Glyphosate 450 Herbicide recommends using a wetting agent. How necessary is this? Intended usage is both tree injections & general spot spraying with a 12-volt spray tank.

    Answered by the admin

Including a wetting agent when using Herbicides such as Nufarm Glyphosate 450 as a foliar spray ensures the best kill possible, particularly on hard-to-kill weeds or in challenging situations. A wetter or surfactant is a group of chemical substances that act as wetting agents to lower a liquid’s surface tension and allow for increased spreadability. Reducing the spray droplets’ surface tension allows the herbicide to penetrate the leaf surface more effectively, resulting in a better kill. As stem injection does not require contact with foliage for the herbicide translocation, a wetting agent is not required.
