ProTurf Hi K Fertiliser
Guaranteed Analysis: 12N-2.2P-16.6K+4.3Ca+1.5Mg
ProTurf Hi K Fertiliser ‘wakes up’ managed turfgrass even in cold weather by delivering rapid regreening without a leopard-skin effect. ProTurf Hi K Fertiliser helps turf spring to life. It is designed to sustain, strengthen and harden turf for robust, all-year-round growth, in particular through Autumn and Winter.
ProTurf Hi K Fertiliser is rich in polyhalite. A unique natural source of potassium, magnesium, calcium and sulphur for healthy and resistant turf. Thanks to the fine dust-free granules and its mode of release independent of climatic factors, ProTurf improves the quality of your turf.

Why is the higher Potassium (K) included in ProTurf Hi K Fertiliser essential for promoting robust and healthy turf?
Potassium (K) is crucial for sustaining, strengthening, and hardening turf because it enhances the plant’s resistance to stress by fortifying cell walls, facilitating water regulation, and supporting root development, all of which help turf survive environmental challenges and maintain overall health.
- Turf Sustainability: Potassium plays a role in water movement and nutrient transport within plant tissues, which improves turf’s drought resistance, reduces water loss, and minimises wilting during stressful conditions such as heat or drought. This ability to sustain water balance is vital for maintaining green, healthy turf through seasons of environmental stress.
- Turf Strengthening: Potassium activates enzymes needed for protein, sugar, and starch synthesis, which in turn supports robust root growth, efficient photosynthesis, and healthy cell function. Strong roots allow turf to access water and nutrients more effectively, leading to thicker, healthier, and more resilient lawns.
- Turf Hardening: Potassium application encourages the “hardening” of cell walls, making them more rigid and woody rather than soft and easily damaged. This hardening process is especially important in preparation for winter, as it increases cold tolerance and reduces injury from extreme temperature fluctuations. Grass deficient in potassium tends to have weak growth, yellowing, and greater susceptibility to disease and winterkill.

ProTurf Hi K Fertiliser gives you a unique combination of mineral and controlled-release nutrition. Plus, you get the power of Polyhalite, a revolutionary 4-in-1 mineral containing potassium, calcium, magnesium, and sulphur in one granule. The unique Poly-S technology means the nitrogen is released over a period of two to three months to give you sustained growth. ProTurf puts state-of-the-art innovation to work for you.
What is Polyhaliste and why is it an essential component of ProTurf Hi K fertiliser?
Polyhalite is a mineral containing four essential nutrients: potassium, magnesium, calcium and sulphur. As the name suggests, ‘poly’ (more than one) ‘halite’ (salt), is a complex crystal containing four minerals (S, Ca, Mg & P).
To grow and function well, turfgrass needs a balance of nitrogen and other key macronutrients.
- Potassium is essential for turfgrass health and stress tolerance.
- Calcium is needed for cell division and strong cell walls.
- Magnesium for photosynthesis and improved turf colour.
- Sulphur for protein synthesis.
This brings polyhalite into the picture. It provides all four essential macronutrients required by a grass plant alongside applications of nitrogen and phosphorus. When combined with controlled-release fertiliser technology, urea, a compound fertiliser, Polyhaliste results in healthy, even growth without surges. The turf responds quickly in all growing conditions, including hotter and cooler situations. The addition of magnesium significantly improves turf colour.
ProTurf’s controlled release technology allows for proper growth with no surges. The fertiliser’s uncoated portion ensures a quick response from the turf, even in cooler growing conditions. The typical response time after ProTurf Hi K has been applied is seven (7) days.
ProTurf Hi K is a balanced fertiliser that can be used all year and is suitable for all turf types.
