Quinstar 200SC Turf Herbicide QUINSTAR ADAMA

Description

Quinstar 200SC Turf Herbicide

Active Ingredient: Quinclorac @ 200g/L

Quinstar 200SC Turf Herbicide is for the post-emergence control of Summer Grass, Crab Grass and White Clover and the suppression of Kikuyu Grass in various turf varieties.

Quinclorac is rapidly absorbed through the foliage and translocated throughout the plant. Death of sensitive weeds usually occurs between 1 and 2 weeks after treatment. Kikuyu grass can be suppressed by applying two post-emergence treatments. The best results will be achieved if Kikuyu grass is treated in Autumn.

Kikuyu Grass (Pennisetum clandestinum) – Suppression only
Summer Grass / Crab Grass (Digitaria spp.)
White Clover (Trifolium repens)

Target Weeds: Summer Grass / Crab Grass (Digitaria spp.)

Rate: 4.1 L in 400 Litres of water per hectare

Critical Comments:

  • One application – Weeds at cotyledon stage up to and prior to second tiller OR weeds at 5 tillers and greater
  • Two applications (21 to 28 days apart) – Weeds from 2 to 4 tillers. The addition of a crop oil adjuvant (preferably a methylated seed oil) may improve weed control in unfavourable weather conditions.

Target Weeds: Kikuyu Grass (Pennisetum clandestinum) – Suppression only

Rate: 4.1 L in 400 Litres of water per hectare

Critical Comments:

  • For Kikuyu suppression, apply twice 14 to 21 days apart. Best results are gained from Autumn applications. The addition of a crop oil adjuvant (preferably a methylated seed oil) may improve weed control in unfavourable weather conditions.

Target Weeds: White Clover (Trifolium repens)

Rate: 4.1 L in 400 Litres of water per hectare

Critical Comments: Apply to actively growing weeds.

Tips for Maximising Performance:

  • Clippings from the first three mowings should be returned and not collected from the treated surface.

The Quinstar 200SC Herbicide is recommended to selectively target Summer Grass / Crab Grass from perennial ryegrass and bluegrass turf.  It would be our top recommendation for this purpose.  With any of these speciality turf products, it is critical to adhere to the correct amount of chemical applied over a set area at the recommended water rate.  Even though these types of products are selective, if they are misused (usually applied too heavily), damage can occur to the host species.

Answered by the admin There are various options to remove summer grass (crowsfoot or crabgrass) from Wintergreen couch selectively.  Wintergreen Couch is part of the couch genus (Cynodon dactylon), so selective herbicides suitable for use on green couches are safe to use.  As a post-emergent spray, DSMA Herbicide,  Quinstar Herbicide, Crowbar Herbicide & Prolan Herbicide.  As a pre-emergent application, Barricade Herbicide, Spartan Herbicide, Freehand Herbicide & Ronstar Turf Herbicide.
