Tebulex 200GR Herbicide TEBULEX Ronic

Description

Tebulex 200GR Herbicide (Active Ingredient: Tebuthiuron @ 200g/kg)

Similar or comparable to Graslan Herbicide (FMC), Ozcrop Tebuthiuron 200 Herbicide (OzCrop), Tebuthiuron 200 GR (Sabakem) & Regain Herbicide (Granular Products)

Tebulex 200GR Herbicide is a high-quality granule for controlling Brigalow and Teatree regrowth, Mimosa Pigra and certain problem woody weeds, based on the proven active Tebuthiron. Tebulex 200 GR Herbicide is an economical choice for use in the control of woody weeds on grazing lands and is suitable for Aerial, ground, and hand application. It is available in 1kg, 20kg and 500kg packs.

Tebulex 200GR Herbicide can be applied at any time of the year, and treatments become effective after sufficient rainfall mobilizes the active into the root zone, where it is absorbed by the woody plants. Herbicidal activity will continue for several seasons after application. During this time, the woody weeds may undergo repeated defoliations and regrowth until death occurs. The time required for complete plant death depends on soil type, amount of rainfall, root depth, plant species, plant density and rate of Tebuthiuron 200GR used. The aerial and ground application rate will be between 7.5kg and 15kg per hectare. A single application is typically adequate for several years. Forage grass production usually increases as woody weed competition is reduced. Increased grass production also depends on adequate rainfall and an acceptable grazing management program.

Tebulex 200GR Herbicide may cause temporary herbicidal symptoms to appear on perennial grasses and higher rates used to control woody weeds may kill grasses. This effect can be minimised by an application when grasses are dormant.

Directions Of Use

General Application Rate:

  • Application Rate (Hand Application): 1-2 grams per M2
  • Application Rate (Aerial & Ground Application): 5 – 15 kg’s Per Hectare

Application of Tebulex 200GR Tebuthiuron 200 by Hand Application, Dispenser or Hand Spreader:

Tebulex 200GR Tebuthiuron 200 Hand Application.

  •  It is recommended that gloves be used during hand application.
  • Apply Tebulex 200GR Tebuthiuron by uniformly distributing by hand over the desired area after weighing out the recommended quantity of pellets.
  • The best way to calibrate yourself is to weigh a normal handful of pellets. If, for example, a handful weighs 20 grams, this will treat 20 m2 at 1 g/m2 and 10 m2 at 2g/m2.

Dispenser / Hand Spreader.

  •  Apply Tebulex 200GR Tebuthiuron 200 by uniformly distributing by hand after dispensing a single dose (7 g) from the dispenser unit. Apply the pellets at 1 to 2g/m2. One dose (7 g) will treat 7 to 3.5 m2 at these rates.
  • When applying pellets to small regrowth up to 1 m high, distribute them under the regrowth canopy from the root crown or stems to 30 cm beyond the drip zone of the plants you want to control.
  • The first significant rain dissolves the pellets, moving Tebuthiuron into the soil.
  • Additional rainfall takes Tebuthiuron into the root zone where it is absorbed by the roots of woody plants.
  • The time required for complete plant death depends on soil type, amount of rainfall, root depth, plant species, plant density and rate of Tebuthiuron used. Some species may go through several defoliations from 6 months to 2 years before dying.
  • Timber and regrowth control with Tebuthiuron pellets may be variable when used on soils with high clay content, high organic matter or when treating deep rooted or more tolerant species.

Treatment of clumps of trees or patches of regrowth by hand.

  • Tebulex 200GR pellets are particularly effective in treating areas of regrowth.
  • Estimate the area within 30cm beyond the drip zone and apply Tebulex 200GR pellets on a grid pattern to uniformly cover the area.
  • Pellets should be applied over the top of regrowth if at all possible in an attempt to maintain a good distribution pattern.

Treating Regrowth Along Fencelines.

  • To obtain reliable control of regrowth so it does not interfere with the wires in the fence line, ensure pellets are evenly distributed 2 m on either side of the fence line, i.e. a 4 m swath.
  • Please note that large trees outside the treated area may have their roots extending into where the pellets are placed. These trees will be affected and may result in being controlled.

Treating Individual Woody Weed Regrowth.

  • Estimate the area to where the roots may extend from the plant; this may be up to 1.5 times the height of the plant from the trunk and well beyond the plant canopy.
  • This area must be treated as evenly as possible, with pellets being spread from the trunk to beyond the foliage drip line formed by the branches to where the roots may extend.
  • Do not throw all the pellets at the base of the trunk. This will waste material and could result in poor control.

Tebulex 200GR Herbicide is not registered for or recommended to control cherry guava (Psidium cattleyanum). It is recommended to control many woody weeds, including various tree species, including large gum tree species. Unfortunately, we do not have data available if this product has been used to control cherry guava. An 'off-label' trial would need to be conducted at your risk-taking consideration of non-target species nearby (i.e. trees) that may also be affected.

Tebulex 200GR Herbicide is not registered for or recommended to control Blackberry. Foliar sprays such as Grazon Extra & Metsulfuron (+Aminopyralid) Herbicides are the suggested control method. Blackberry is a broadleaf noxious woody weed and may be susceptible to Tebulex 200GR Herbicide. However, an 'off-label' trial would need to be undertaken, considering non-target species nearby (i.e. trees) that may also be affected. To the best of our knowledge, no other granular herbicides are registered for the control of Blackberry.

Tips For Use

Restraints:

  • Do not apply this product to salt or erosion-prone areas.
  • Do not apply this product within 100 metres of a recognised watercourse.
  • Do not apply Tebulex 200GR Tebuthiuron on land with a slope greater than 20% (11 degrees).
  • Do not apply Tebulex 200GR Tebuthiuron under conditions that will cause pellet movement to non-target areas during application.
  • Retain at least 20% of the original tree population in wildlife corridors at least 100 metres wide. These are essential for shade and protection of livestock and native fauna. Ideally, shelter belts should traverse variable terrain, particularly ridgelines and hilltops, as well as water courses, and link other vegetated corridors where possible.
  • For long-term viability, retain a minimum of 5 hectares for shade areas, regardless of vegetation type.
  • Do not apply Tebulex 200GR Tebuthiuron on field crops, near desirable trees or shrubs or to areas into which their roots may extend or in locations where the chemical may be washed in contact with their roots as injury or death may occur.
  • Do not apply Tebulex 200GR tebuthiuron to land to be put under field crops within 5 years of application.

Other Limitations: For Native Vegetation:

  • Use of Tebulex 200GR on native vegetation must be done in accordance with State and/or Local legislation.

General Instructions:

  • Tebulex 200GR may be applied at any time of the year. Treatments become effective after sufficient rainfall has occurred to move the chemical into the root zone where it is absorbed by woody plants. Applications prior to seasonal rainfall give the most rapid response.
  • Herbicidal activity will continue for several seasons after application. During this time woody plants may go through repeated defoliation’s and regrowth’s until death occurs. A single application is normally effective for several years.
  • Forage grass production usually increases as woody weed competition is reduced. Increased grass production is also dependent on adequate rainfall and an acceptable grazing management programme. It is important to allow grasses to seed and seedlings to become established after treatment before grazing pressure is increased. Areas treated with Tebulex 200GR may be over-seeded with suitable pasture species. Consult your agricultural specialist for details on suitable seeding rates, timing and a fertiliser application programme.
  • The residual action of Tebulex 200GR may be impaired if a fire occurs before the clay pellets are dissolved and the chemical has moved into the root zone.

Protection of Crops, Native and Other Non-Target Plants:

  • Do not allow roots of desirable plants, trees or ornamentals to contact Tebulex 200GR.
  • Tebulex 200GR may cause temporary herbicidal symptoms to appear on perennial grasses.
  • Higher rates of application of Tebulex 200GR (2g/m2) may kill grasses, particularly native annuals.
  • This effect can be minimised by application when grasses are dormant.
  • Tebulex 200GR may seriously injure desirable forage plants such as pasture legumes and other broadleaf plants.
  • These species may regenerate in subsequent seasons.

Protection of Livestock:

  • Poisonous plants may become more palatable after application of granule and stock should be kept away from these plants until they have died down.

Protection of Wildlife, Fish, Crustaceans and Environment:

  • Do not contaminate streams, rivers or waterways with the granules or used containers.

Storage:

  • Store in the closed original container in a dry, cool, well-ventilated area out of direct sunlight.

Safety Directions:

  • It is harmful if swallowed.
  • It will irritate the eyes.
  • Repeated exposure may cause allergic disorders.
  • Avoid contact with the eyes and skin when opening the container and using the product.
  • Wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist, a washable hat, and elbow-length gloves.
  • Wash hands after use.
  • After each day of use, wash contaminated clothing.

First Aid:

  • If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre. Phone Australia 131 126.
  • For further information, refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
