Hercules Pour-On For Lice

Tips For Use

General Instructions:

• Apply Hercules Pour-On for Lice with a 6-Stripe pour-on applicator.
• To prevent re-infestation, treated sheep must not be mixed with lice-free sheep until 6 weeks after treatment.
• Live lice on ewes treated within 6 weeks of lambing can infect lambs from these ewes.
• Sheep must be treated within 7 days of shearing; unshorn lambs can be treated up to 2 months of age.
• Efficacy is not affected by moderate rainfall either before or after treatment (50mm rain 1 hour before treatment and/or 12.5mm 2 hours after treatment and/or 25mm 24 hours after treatment).
• Treated sheep must not be mixed with lousy sheep.
• Do not use on sheep that have not been cleanly shorn for any reason, e.g., mycotic dermatitis.
• Management practices that promote good lice control such as complete musters, accurate treatment of every animal according to label, ensuring all animals can be treated at the same time, no split shearings, stock-proof fencing to prevent external introductions, quarantine and lice treatment of all newly purchased stock are essential for effective lice control.

Other Instructions:

• Treated sheep could potentially develop backline dermatitis following prolonged exposure to extreme heat and sunlight without access to shade.
• Do not leave the container, hose or applicator in the sun for long periods of time.
• Hercules pour-on may be used in conjunction with worm control drenches and at the same time as vaccination.
• Hercules pour-on contains a blue dye to identify treated sheep.
• This dye is scourable from the wool.
• The product can be detrimental to certain plastics, paints and surface finishes.
• Avoid contact with such surfaces.
• Hercules Pour-On For Lice is safe for use on breeding rams.

Rehandling Interval:

• Do not come into contact with treated sheep until the spray has dried unless wearing cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist (or equivalent clothing).

Environmental Protection:

• Imidacloprid is highly toxic to aquatic species.
• Do not contaminate dams, ponds, rivers, waterways or drains with pesticides or used containers.

Storage:

• Store below 30°C (room temperature).
• Store in the original container, tightly closed in a safe place.
• Protect from light.

Safety Directions:

• It will irritate the eyes.
• Avoid contact with eyes.
• When opening the container and using the product, wear a face shield or goggles.
• Wash hands after use.

First Aid Instructions:

• If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre, Phone Australia 13 11 26.
• If swallowed, do not induce vomiting.
• If in eyes, wash out immediately with water.
