    Stealth Miticide And Insecticide (Abamectin)

Stealth Miticide And Insecticide (Abamectin) showed the best result with two-spotted mites. Mites fully covered the leaves of the sloe and almond trees. I tried many miticide sprays, but they worked for two weeks maximum. After abamectin treatment the leaves became green and clean. Also delivery was very fast. Thanks Specialist Sales for the wonderful service.

Hi Mario. Unsure why the Stealth Miticide is not helping with the Spider Mites on your roses as Stealth Abamectin is very toxic to Spider Mites. Abamectin (the active ingredient of Stealth) functions as a nerve toxin that must be ingested by mites. Once applied, the material must move into the leaf tissue, where it can then be picked up by feeding mites. We are also not sure of the other insecticides you have used on your roses, however, these are usually highly toxic to spider mite natural enemies, particularly thrips and predator mites. If the natural enemies are reduced the Spider Mite populations can increase making the task of controlling them more difficult.

Unfortunately, the Stealth Miticide and Insecticide label only mentions that it is compatible with most commonly used insecticides. It does not mention compatibility with fungicides or, specifically, Copper Oxide. As this would be an 'off-label' recommendation, we suggest contacting the manufacturer, PCT, on 1800 630 877 or [email protected]. It is important to note that copper-based products can have specific side effects on plants when mixed with insecticides. These include Phytotoxicity which leads to damage or injury to plant tissues. This can manifest as leaf burn, chlorosis (yellowing), necrosis (tissue death), or stunted growth. Reduced photosynthesis may also occur. Photosynthesis is essential for energy production and development. This interference can result in reduced plant vigour and overall health.

Stealth Miticide and Insecticide is not registered to control 'couch mites' or to be applied to lawns. You may want to consider Temprid 75 Residual Insecticide is a residual insecticide concentrate for the control of various insect pests in turf and ornamental plants and the management of various insect pests in domestic, commercial, industrial and public buildings. Temprid 75 is registered to control 'couch mites' in a lawn.

Stealth Miticide and Insecticide is only registered to control broad mite (Polyphagotarsonemus latus) on Citrus.  To the best of our knowledge, no miticides are registered for controlling broad mites on Dahlias.  An 'off-label' trial undertaken at your own risk might be a consideration.

Stealth Miticide and Insecticide active ingredient is abamectin. Abamectin is a broad-spectrum systemic insecticide that attacks the nervous system of insects and mites and causes paralysis within hours. It is used against pests with natural protection as it has contact and systemic properties. It integrates itself into the plant’s system quickly after application.

Stealth Miticide and Insecticide is registered to control specific pests on some stone fruit trees, but Peaches and Apricots are not one of them.  As we are bound by the products 'directions for use' label, we do not recommend Stealth Miticide and Insecticide be used on Peaches and Apricots.  You may like to look at Bugmaster Flowable Insecticide, registered for use on both these species.

Stealth Miticide and Insecticide is only registered to control Cotton Thrips on some bean crops.  It does not claim control over Chilli Thrip.  To the best of our knowledge, there are no insecticides registered in Australia that claim control of Chilli Thrip.  We have various insecticides such as Preserve 120 Insecticide, Success Ultra Insect Control, Vista 200SC & Venom Professional Insecticide registered to control certain thrip species but not Chilli Thrip.  The only way to know if Stealth Insecticide (or any of the others listed) is effective will be to conduct an 'off-label' trial.

Stealth Miticide and Insecticide is registered to control Tea Red Spider Mite & Red Spider Mite with no mention of False Spider Mite.  Orchids are not explicitly listed in the host species of plants, as not every variety can be listed.  However, they would be considered ornamental plants and safe for use.  False Spider Mite control can't be guaranteed, but there is a good chance that Stealth will be effective against these pests when used at the rates recommended for other red mites in an 'off-label' test/trial situation.
