  5. Q Will Amicide Advance 700 Herbicide kill fleabane weeds?
Asked by Darren on November 3, 2023 10:11 am

Amicide Advance 700 Herbicide is registered for the control of fleabane. The best results will be seen if applied to rosette plants and seedlings. Higher rates of chemicals will be required for mature & flowering plants. You will need to ensure that a high water rate is used, and we recommend a suitable wetting agent/penetrant is also used to provide complete coverage of the fleabane.

Amicide Advance 700 Herbicide is not registered or recommended for use in turf or claims to control dandelion.  Selective herbicides that are both registered for use in turf to control dandelion are; Surefire Dicamba M Herbicide, Dissaray Dicamba M Herbicide, Kamba M Herbicide, Surefire Buffalo, Bindi & Broadleaf Weedkiller,  and 3-D Selective Turf Herbicide.  Always read the 'directions for use' carefully to ensure suitability to your situation.

Amicide Advance 700 Herbicide is registered to control most heliotrope species, including common heliotrope and blue heliotrope. The best control will be achieved when the heliotrope is prayed in the early growth stages up to approximately 10cm (selling & rosettes). Once the heliotrope has reached its more mature size, fluroxypyr (i.e. Starane) added to the tank mix was recommended for a more effective kill. Amicide Advance 700 Herbicide is not registered or recommended for use on turf or lawns. The lower strength 24D Amine formulations (300 & 625) are registered for use in lawn and turf situations per the directions of use. The application rate to target thistles in a pasture will depend on the application method (i.e. Boomspray, Knapsack or High Volume spray) and the type of thistle being targeted. These mixing rates are available in the 'directions for use' found on the Specialist Sales website. Search for Amicide Advance 700 Herbicide, and once in the product description, open the 'SDS and Technical' tab to find the directions for use documents.

    Answered by the admin

Amicide Advance 700 Herbicide is not registered or recommended for use in turf.  There are many selective herbicides for this purpose, but the best one will depend on the variety of turf you have and the weeds you are looking to remove.  There is no single 'silver-bullet' options where one product will take all weeds out of the turf.

Specialist Sales has many selective herbicides available for use in various lawn types.  To view these, select Shop Our Range/Turf & Domestic/Herbicides from the main menu.  Please read 'directions for use' carefully before application.  Alternatively, you can phone our sales office on 1800 780 317 for specialised advice.

  • If required by the tank mix partner product, add either a Wetter 1000, Activator or LI 700 / Wilt 700 in accordance with label directions on the tank mix partner product.
  • Use LI 700 / Wilt 700 if insecticides will be included in the tank mixture or if a faster brownout of weeds is required or for assistance in droplet size management to partially reduce the number of fine droplets produced from hydraulic nozzles by air and ground.
  • To improve performance under adverse environmental conditions or when dealing with large weeds, the addition of Ammonium Sulphate at 2 L/100 L is recommended.
  • The addition of crystalline ammonium sulphate may take a significantly longer time to dissolve.
