Surefire Decimate Selective Herbicide is used in cereals, vineyards and some improved pastures for the selective control of various broadleaf weeds. Surefire Decimate is probably best known for its exceptional broadleaf weed spectrum and speed of action, producing visible effects within days rather than weeks.

Surefire Decimate can contribute significantly to producing high-yielding cereal crops, and dynamic clover or lucerne pastures, by removing weed competition during the critical early weeks of crop establishment.

Surefire Decimate forms a continuous product layer on the soil surface, providing some residual control of subsequent germinations of wild radish.

What situations can Surefire Decimate Selective Herbicide be used in;

  • Wheat, Barley, Triticale, Cereal rye (including undersown with clover and/or lucerne), and these cover crops in vineyards.

     Surefire Decimate Selective Herbicide is not registered or recommended to control Dandelion / Catsear / Flatweed ( Hypochaeris radicata). For this purpose, we suggest selective herbicides such as 24D Amine (i.e. Amicide Advance 700 Herbicide) or MCPA 750 Herbicide.

    Surefire Decimate Selective Herbicide application is recommended via boom spray. The boom spray rate for fireweed, up to 4 leaf stage, is 500mL per hectare. Some users may apply Decimate as a spot spray as 'off-label' by applications other than boom spray. An approximate 'off-label' conversion rate would be 1/100th of boom spray rate to 10L water, e.g. if the rate in the weed table is 500mL, use 5mL/10L water 500mL x .001 = 5mL. Always read the 'directions for use' carefully before application. These can be found on the products screen. Scroll down to the heading 'SDS & Technical' select, and a PDF file will be available to download or print.

     Surefire Decimate Selective Herbicide is registered to control Fireweed (Senecio spp.) up to the four leaf stages of growth.  If the stock is due to be sold or sent for slaughter, refer to the WHP (Grazing: Pasture, Cereals: Do not graze or cut for stock food within 14 days after application).  If the stock is remaining on the property and you choose to remove them whilst spraying, allow the paddock time to dry (6-8 hours) before reentry.

  • To ensure good results surefire decimate selective herbicide should only be applied once the weeds and crop are no longer under stress from the frost conditions.
  • Avoid application when maximum daily temperatures above 20°c occur, or are likely to occur for a few days after application, as increased crop damage may result.

Application:
