Acelepryn Turf Insecticide ACELEPRYN-LIQUID Syngenta

Description

Acelepryn Turf Insecticide

Active Ingredients: Chlorantraniliprole @ 200g/L

Similar or comparable to Acelepryn GR Turf Insecticide

Acelepryn Turf Insecticide is for the control of Lawn Armyworm, African Black Beetle, Argentine Stem Weevil, Argentinian Scarab, Billbugs and other insect pests in turf.

Acelepryn Turf Insecticide provides unmatched, season-long grub and caterpillar control with a single application. Acelepryn delivers excellent preventative performance, with optimal results achieved with application early in the season (mid-September) with the appearance of overwintering adult pests. The long residual performance of Acelepryn will provide up to 6 months of protection at the higher application rates. Curative control with Acelepryn on pest outbreaks later in the season (mid-December onwards) can be achieved using the higher recommended application rates.

Where can Acelepryn Turf Insecticide be used;

  • Golf courses
  • Lawns, including commercial and residential lawn areas
  • Sports grounds
  • Other sports areas
  • Recreational turfgrass areas

What pests does Acelepryn Turf Insecticide control;

  • Lawn Armyworm (Spodoptera mauritia)
  • Caterpillars including Black Cutworm (Agrotis ipsilon)
  • Sod Webworm (Herpetogramma licarsisalis)
  • Beetle larvae including African Black Beetle (Heteronychus arator)
  • Argentinian Scarab (Cyclocephala signaticollis)
  • Argentine Stem Weevil larvae (Listronotus bonariensis)
  • Billbug larvae (Sphenophorus brunnipennis)

Acelepryn is an anthranilic diamide insecticide in the form of a suspension concentrate.

Why choose Acelepryn Turf Insecticide;

  • It contains the active ingredient Chlorantraniliprole.
  • Up to 6 months of protection at the higher application rate.
  • A product exempt from poison scheduling with high turf safety and low environmental impact.
  • Ease of use with no re-entry periods and no PPE requirements.
  • Controls a wide range of turf pests such as larvae of African Black Beetle, Argentinian Scarab, Billbugs as well as Cutworm, Armyworm and Webworm with a single application

Acelepryn Turf Insecticide is very active against 1st and 2nd instar larvae of the most destructive turf-infesting grub species. The window for application should thus be positioned around the peak egg-laying period by adult beetles. This timing can be monitored by the increasing activity of adult beetles, usually during spring and early summer. Acelepryn will provide excellent curative caterpillar control in turfgrass and should be applied when pests/damage is observed.

Example: African Black Beetle egg-laying traditionally peaks around October, whereas that of the Argentinian Scarab peaks around November to early December. A single application at 1.5 L/ha in early spring (September) should be sufficient to ensure control of both species for the entire season.

Rolls Royce for killing Army Worm

    Mick (verified owner)

This is the best Army Worm insecticide on the market and it stays in the soil profile for up to 6 months. Has just become available in liquid form making it easier to apply than granular form. This was the best price I could find in Australia with postage price included. Arrived very quickly.

Directions Of Use

Situation: Golf courses, Lawns including commercial and residential lawn areas, Sports grounds, Other sport and recreational turfgrass areas

Pest: Beetle larvae including African Black Beetle (Heteronychus arator)

Rate: 750 mL to 1.5 L/ha or 7.5 to 15 mL/100m²

Critical Comments: Apply before or at peak egg hatch for maximum control (typically mid-September). Apply the higher rate for early season (mid-September) application where long residual protection is required, or in later season applications (mid-December onwards) when less sensitive mid instar grubs are present at the time of application, or in cases of high pest pressure.

Pest: Argentinian Scarab (Cyclocephala signaticollis)

Rate: 750 mL to 1.5 L/ha or 7.5 to 15 mL/100m²

Critical Comments: Apply before or at peak egg hatch for maximum control (typically mid-December). Use the higher application rates for later season applications when less sensitive mid instar grubs are present at the time of application or in cases of high pest pressure.

Pest: Argentine Stem Weevil larvae (Listronotus bonariensis), Billbug larvae (Sphenophorus brunnipennis)

Rate: 750 mL to 1.5 L/ha or 7.5 to 15 mL/100m²

Critical Comments: Apply early season (mid September) applications when overwintered adults are first observed, to prevent damage and population build up. Early application is essential to prevent grass damage due to feeding. Use the higher application rates when extended residual performance is required or for later season applications (mid-December onwards) or in cases of high pest pressure.

Pest: Caterpillars including Black Cutworm (Agrotis ipsilon), Lawn Armyworm (Spodoptera mauritia), Sod Webworm (Herpetogramma licarsisalis)

Rate: 750 mL/ha or 7.5mL/100m²

Critical Comments: To ensure optimum control, delay watering (irrigation) or mowing for 24 hours after application.

Applications should not be made when the soil is saturated with water because the adequate distribution of the active ingredient vertically in the soil profile cannot be achieved under this condition. As is the case with any insecticide applied to turfgrass for beetle larvae control, optimal results will be achieved if the product is irrigated into the turf immediately after application.

Acelepryn Turf Insecticide has no restraints or precautions regarding use before seeding new turf. As Acelepryn is an insecticide, not a herbicide, it should not affect germinating grass seed as it only targets insects. Applying any pesticide to emerging or new turf (up to 6-8 weeks of age) is not recommended due to phytoxicity effects. For confirmation of your specific situation would suggest contacting Syngenta Turf Australia (https://www.syngentaturf.com.au/contact-us).

Acelepryn Turf Insecticide (liquid) is registered to be applied via a 'boom sprayer', which would be ideal for a large area as the insecticide must be evenly spread over a specific area size.  The application rate varies from 750mL to 1500mL per 10,000sqm, depending on the pests you are controlling.  If you cannot apply by boom spray, another option is the Acelepryn GR Turf Insecticide.  This is the same product but in a granular form that can be used with a manual hand spreader.

Tips For Use

Application:

  • Applications should not be made when the soil is saturated with water because the adequate distribution of the active ingredient vertically in the soil profile cannot be achieved under this  condition.
  • As is the case with any insecticide applied to turfgrass for beetle larvae control, optimal results will be achieved if the product is irrigated into the turf immediately after application.
  • Apply extremely coarse droplets using nozzles such as Syngenta XC04 or Syngenta XC08 or similar nozzles.
  • Spray with at least 400 L of water/ha (or 4 L water per 100m²) to ensure even coverage.
  • The required water volume may be determined by applying different test volumes, using different settings on the sprayer, from industry guidelines or expert advice.
  • Note that the amount of product specified in the Directions for Use is per hectare or 100m² of product. You will need to determine your spray rate per area before deciding on the amount of product to add to the tank.
  • For optimal control, irrigate with approximately 6 mm of water immediately after application (except where treating for caterpillars, when irrigation and mowing should be delayed for 24 hours).

Spray Timing:

  • African Black Beetle / Argentinian Scarab: Acelepryn may be applied from spring onwards for preventative control of these species infesting turfgrass.  The need for an application may be based on historical monitoring of the site, previous records or experiences, current season adult trapping or other methods.
  • Argentine Stem Weevil / Billbug: Acelepryn should be applied when overwintered adults are first observed in early spring (mid-September) to prevent damage in late spring.  An application at this time will also give excellent control of African Black Beetle.
  • Caterpillars: Acelepryn will provide excellent curative caterpillar control in turfgrass and should be applied when pests/damage is observed.

Restraints:

  • Do not apply when the soil is saturated with water as adequate distribution of the active ingredient vertically in the soil profile cannot be achieved under this condition.
  • Do not apply more than 2.8 L per hectare (28mL per 100sqm) per year in broadcast applications to turfgrass.

Protection Of Wildlife, Fish, Crustaceans And Environment:

  • Dangerous to aquatic invertebrates.
  • Drift and runoff from treated areas may be hazardous to aquatic organisms in neighbouring areas.
  • Do not contaminate streams, rivers or waterways with chemical or used containers.
  • Do not apply under weather conditions or from spraying equipment that may cause spray to drift onto nearby non-target plants/crops, cropping lands or pastures.

Storage:

  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Store in the closed, original container in a cool, well-ventilated area.
  • Do not store for prolonged periods in direct sunlight.

First Aid Instructions:

  • First aid is not generally required. If in doubt, contact a Poisons Information Centre (phone 13 11 26) or a doctor.
  • For further information, refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
