Tips For Use

General Instructions to maximise performance:

  • The product is compatible with most insecticides and fungicides. It is not compatible with foliar nutrients. Some of the salts in fertilisers can affect the efficacy of Propamocarb.
  • Shrapnel 600SL can be tank-mixed with other fungicides to broaden the disease control spectrum. Some common tank mixes are as follows;
    • Shrapnel 600SL + Voltar 250GT (increases the spectrum of curative control to include Brown Patch, Fusarium, Helminthosporium and Dollar Spot.
    • Shrapnel 600SL + Squadron Weatherace increases the spectrum of protectant activity against pathogens such as Brown Patch and Dollar Spot.
  • For turf applications, use the higher rate as a curative or as a preventative treatment during times of high infection pressure (Summer months).
  • Shrapnel 600SL is corrosive to metals, and spray residues should be washed out of the spray vat and the spray system with clean water immediately after use.
  • Shrapnel 600SL has displayed a wide range of safety to ornamental flowers, indoor plants and shrubs. However, if the compound is used repeatedly at short intervals or if it is employed at increased concentration rates, slight necrotic tipping of the cotyledons or of advanced leaves which have stopped growing, may occur.
  • For soil or rootzone targeted fungicide applications, apply in a heavier water volume (>800L/ha) and irrigate with a minimum of 3mm immediately following application.
  • The product is stable in water at a pH of 5-9.
  • The average soil half life of Propamocarb is around 30days. For preventative soil applications, ensure there is a significant overlap in high pressure situations to ensure adequate disease protection.
  • Do not graze treated areas or feed lawn (turf) clippings from treated areas to animals, including poultry.

Mixing:

  • This product is completely soluble in water.
  • Add the concentrate to the water and stir thoroughly when mixing.
  • The mixture is stable and can be used the following day.

Application Equipment:

  • The product can be applied using a watering can or injection equipment (e.g. Gewa) or any conventional high volume ground spraying equipment calibrated to low pressure pump output.
  • Spray nozzles should be capable of delivering a coarse high volume spray at low pressure, 50 to 100 kPa.

Compatibility:

  • The product is compatible with most insecticides and fungicides.
  • It is not compatible with foliar nutrients.

Precaution:

  • Shrapnel 600SL is corrosive to metals, and spray residues should be washed out of the spray vat and the spray system with clean water immediately after use.

Protection Of Crops, Native and Other Non-Target Plants:

  • Shrapnel 600 SL has displayed a wide range of safety for ornamental flowers, indoor plants, and shrubs. However, if the compound is used repeatedly at short intervals or employed at increased concentration rates, slight necrotic tipping of the cotyledons or advanced leaves that have stopped growing may occur.

Protection Of Wildlife, Fish, Crustaceans and the Environment:

  • Do not contaminate streams, rivers, or waterways with products or used containers.

Storage:

  • Store in the closed, original container in a cool, well-ventilated area.
  • Do not store for prolonged periods in direct sunlight.

  • Repeated exposure may cause allergic disorders.
  • When opening the container and preparing the spray, wear elbow-length PVC gloves.
  • Wash hands after use.
  • After each day’s use, wash gloves.

First Aid:

  • If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or the Poisons Information Centre. Phone Australia 131 126.
