CroPro Zeus Bifenthrin Termiticide and Insecticide: Dual-Action Subterranean Termite and Urban Pest Control
CroPro Zeus Termiticide and Insecticide contains 100 g/L Bifenthrin (Group 3A insecticide) in a solvent-based formulation that delivers fast knockdown and long-lasting residual control. Furthermore, it targets subterranean termites in service poles and fence posts, a broad range of urban pests, and various insect and mite pests across multiple crops. PCT Holdings holds APVMA Approval No: 58368/1203, and the label covers use in all Australian states, except as noted for individual pests.
Beyond structural and urban pest control, the solvent-based carrier drives strong surface penetration and residual activity, giving Zeus reliable performance for both contact kill and barrier protection. As a result, its low mammalian toxicity relative to its potency makes Zeus a practical choice for professional pest managers, farmers, and rural operators who manage buildings, structures, and agricultural crops at the same time.
What Does CroPro Zeus Termiticide and Insecticide Control?
Yes. Zeus Bifenthrin Termiticide and Insecticide creates a continuous termiticide barrier around service poles and fence posts when applied by soil injection, rodding, or infill at label rates. Protection periods vary with termite hazard, climate, soil conditions, and rate used.
Can Zeus be applied by aircraft?
Yes. Zeus is registered for aerial application to crops. Use at least 20 L/ha total spray volume and spray in cooler conditions to reduce drift. A droplet size of 150 to 200 microns is recommended.
Is Zeus compatible with common fungicides?
Zeus Bifenthrin Termiticide and Insecticide is compatible with Dithane M45, Antracol, Chlorothalonil 500, Sprayseed, Broadstrike, Spinniker, Simazine 900, Dual, Metribuzin, Chlorsulfuron, Triasulfuron, and pendimethalin.
Dual-action control: Registered as both a termiticide and a broad-spectrum insecticide, covering structural, urban, and agricultural pest management from a single product.
Active constituent: 100 g/L Bifenthrin (Group 3A insecticide) in a solvent-based carrier for strong surface penetration and residual activity.
Subterranean termite protection: Creates a continuous soil barrier around service poles and fence posts, with protection periods of up to 10 years, depending on conditions and rate.
Broad pest spectrum: Registered for control of spiders, cockroaches, ants, fleas, mosquitoes, ticks, wasps, and a wide range of crop pests across bananas, citrus, stone fruit, canola, grapes, tomatoes, sugarcane, and more.

Zeus is a very efficient pest control at home… such a small amount covers the house, inside and out and we don’t see a spider or cockroach for at least 12 months!
Zeus is terrific against termites. Even a large nest in the paddock. Punch some holes in the nest with a screw driver and pour 2 litres of mixed Zeus down the holes. I check back with a mattock 2 weeks later and rarely have to re-dose. Drill 100mm holes around the perimeter of your property and fill them with Zeus. Let it absorb, fill the holes with sand and pour a little more. I have done this to protect houses. Cheaper than paying a contractor $3000.
The best solution I have found so far for ants around the house. I was also very pleased with the prompt delivery of this product by the supplier. Well done.
bought 5L of this which is still cheaper than a single years pest control application by Jims and I’ll be able to apply this twice yearly for the next 20 years with how far it goes. As for effectiveness, you can see the line where the spray stopped clearly as theres a row of dead bugs, looks like they just drop dead on contact. Works well for all creepy crawlies!
Great product Works for me First used a few years ago when we had an infestation of roo ticks Use around house every 12 to 18 mths around house for all crawlies 👍
Really effective Insecticide/Termiticide. Have a 1 litre dispensing bottle& bought the bulk for refilling the dispensing bottle. Recommend this product for around the house.

Zeus is applied as a diluted emulsion mixed with water.
For urban pest control, apply as a coarse low-pressure surface spray to areas where pests hide, harbouring, or travel, to the point of run-off.
For subterranean termite protection of poles and fence posts, apply by soil injection, rodding, or backfill treatment at rates specified in Table A of the label.
For crop pest control, apply by ground rig or aircraft as a dilute or concentrate spray, calibrated to deliver thorough coverage at the specified rate per 100 litres of water.
Mix the required quantity of Zeus with water in the spray tank and agitate thoroughly during mixing and application. Refer to the label rate table for crop, pest, state, rate, and critical comments before use.
Application Rate:
General Pest Sprays: 25mL – 50mL per 10L Water (2.5mL -5mL per 1L Water)

Regarding the residual effect of Zeus Termiticide and Insecticide, once applied, it will depend on the application method, what it is being applied to, seasonal conditions, soil types, etc. Bifenthrin, the active ingredient used in Zeus, often remains in the soil and has a residual half-life in soil between 7 days and 8 months, depending on the soil type. For protection of poles and fence posts, depending on the rate & region it is applied in, it can last up to 10 years. For nest eradication, there is no residual life span. We recommend you read the label and SDS before purchasing and/or use for your specific circumstance. These can be found in the 'SDS & Technical' section of the product page on our website. Zeus Insecticide only lists the compatible herbicides for tank mixes included with supporting data at the time of the product registration. We would not recommend a tank mix that includes Zeus & Metric as the Zeus requires immediate irrigation after application, so the insecticide ends up in the plant's root zone. This irrigation, though, will wash the metric off the crowsfoot grass, making it ineffective.

Zeus Termiticide and Insecticide is not registered for use on Roses or for controlling Chili Thrip. In general, pesticides should not be applied to stressed plants due to weather conditions. For example, applying pesticides should be avoided during the hottest part of a summer day or if a frost is present. Plants are more stressed during the hottest part of the day due to high temperatures, and applying insecticides during this time can exacerbate that stress. This may lead to an increased risk of phytotoxicity (chemical damage to the plants) or reduced efficacy of the treatment. Insects are also often more active during cooler parts of the day, such as early morning or evening. Applying insecticides during these times when insects are active can improve the effectiveness of the treatment.

The application rate of Surefire Zeus Insecticide in turf to control Lawn Armyworm is to apply evenly 12mL/100m2 (1.2L Zeus/10,000m2). The minimum amount of water applied evenly is 2L per 100m2. The amount of water you mix the Zeus in is up to you, provided you apply the minimum amount over the area you are treating. For example, you can mix 12mL per 10L water and spread evenly over 100m2. For your sprayers, this would be 8.4mL per 7L over 70m2 & 18mL per 15L over 150m2.

The removal of insect pests from indoor areas can be difficult. If you are dealing with midge, bed bugs, mites, fleas etc., you could consider complete fumigation of the premises with a 'fumigation bomb'. We would recommend speaking with a professional pest controller for this option. The DYI spray options that we would suggest you consider are AntagonistPro Residual Insecticide as an indoor surface spray. This product is best applied to structures and associated surfaces where insects are present, not on areas such as bedding or mattresses. BattleaxePro Professional Crack & Crevice Aerosol can be applied to mattresses, bed frames, carpets, skirting boards etc. We would also suggest washing all linen in a hot wash and drying it in full sunlight, which is also very effective in eliminating certain insect pests.

Spraying Zeus Termiticide and Insecticide (Bifenthrin) can effectively control mosquitoes outdoors as part of an integrated approach. Bifenthrin is primarily intended for outdoor use. It is suitable for treating mosquito breeding grounds, resting areas, and vegetation where mosquitoes tend to reside (including the deck surface, walls and floors). (1) Proper timing: Mosquitoes are most active during dawn and dusk. It is generally recommended to spray insecticides during these times for better control. (2) Targeted application: Bifenthrin should be applied to areas where mosquitoes rest or breeds, such as vegetation, shrubs, and other shaded areas. Avoid spraying directly on flowering plants or areas where beneficial insects, such as bees, are active. (3) Follow instructions: Always read and follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer. Use the recommended concentration and apply the insecticide according to the specified frequency and dosage. Bifenthrin insecticides will only temporarily control mosquitoes as the chemical will break down from UV exposure and weather factors (i.e. rain, dews etc.). Repeat applications will be required.

The soil half-life (50% remaining) of Bifenthrin ranged from 106 to 147 days when the soil was exposed to sunlight when tested by the US EPA in 1999. If being applied to target Lawn Army Worm & Sod Webworms, for optimum control, it is recommended that 4mm of water be irrigated soon after application. The longer it is left unirrigated, the risk of lower than optimal chemical levels remains to be moved to the root zone where the pests are active. This may result in substandard control results. The pests can also continue to cause damage until the insecticide is present in the root zone.

Zeus Termiticide and Insecticide is mixed at rates ranging from 2.5mL-150mL per 10L water, depending on your location in Qld (i.e. if you are North of Tropic of Capricorn, the rates are higher) and the protection period expected. After the initial application of Zeus Termiticide and Insecticide, annual inspections are recommended to determine if the need for further termite sprays are required. Zeus Termiticide and Insecticide is registered for use on citrus trees. Rates for pre-emergence is 12.5-25mL per tree & post-emergence is 6mL per tree. You should apply a total spray volume of 5-10L of spray volume to each tree. Ornamental trees are not listed on Zeus's label. A trial spray at 2-8mL per litre can be undertaken for suitability. The directions for use for Zeus Insecticide should be ready before use. These are available in the Zeus 'SDS and Technical' Tab on the Specialist Sales Website.

To control African Black Beetle (adults), 24-36mL of Zeus Termiticide and Insecticide must be applied evenly over 100m2. The minimum amount of water that the Zeus must be mixed with to be applied over the 100m2 is 2-Litres. However, this could be increased to 5-Litres or more just as long as it is even applied over the whole 100m2 area. Best control will be achieved if up to 4mm of water is irrigated over the area soon after application. The lower mixing rates should be used when the insect pressure (numbers) are low and higher rates when the insect pressure (numbers) are high. Retreat as necessary.

To control flies and mosquitoes around the external areas of your house, mix Zeus Insecticide at 5-10mL per 1L Water. Spray surfaces where insects rest or harbour and reapply as necessary. Applications to concrete floors, treated pine timber fence’s, colour bond fences, and cladding will be fine. If you are doing a perimeter treatment, spray a band of soil or vegetation 2-3 metres wide around and adjacent to your house/structure. It would be best if you also treated the foundation of the structure to a height of approx. 1-metre. Apply a spray volume of 5-10L per 100m2.

There is no set time to reapply Zeus Insecticide to control lawn pests, including Armyworm. Once the first application has been applied and irrigated, regularly inspect the treated areas for continuing activity and reapply as required when and if the new pest activity is observed.
Hi, I was looking for a mosquito barrier for my outdoor area. I came across one at https://www.mosquitobarrier.com.au/products/no-mosquitoes-biting-midge-mosquito-barrier And I saw that the active ingredient is 100g/L bifenthrin the same as your Zeus which comes in much bigger 5L bottle for a lot cheaper. Can you please confirm if this will basically have the same effect? Thankyou, Rachel VanderWal

There are many different Bifenthrin products registered for various uses. Often these are made from the same amount of the active ingredient (Bifenthrin) but use different solvents, fillers and other incipients that make each unique. For example, Specialist Sales has the Mosquito & Midge Slayer plus the Zeus Termiticide and Insecticide, both made from Bifenthrin @ 100g/L. However, both products have entirely different registrations for their purpose of use which is due to the formulation process of each one. It is up to you if you choose to use a product 'off-label' for a purpose that isn't listed on the label. However, results can't be guaranteed by the manufacturer.

When spraying turf for lawn armyworm, sod webworm, African black beetle etc, Zeus Insecticide should be watered in. To ensure optimum control irrigate the treated area with up to 4mm of water soon after application. Do not apply Zeus to soils that are excessively wet or immediately after heavy rain.

Cheaper than paying a contractor $3000.

bought 5L of this which is still cheaper than a single years pest control application by Jims and I’ll be able to apply this twice yearly for the next 20 years with how far it goes. As for effectiveness, you can see the line where the spray stopped clearly as theres a row of dead bugs, looks like they just drop dead on contact. Works well for all creepy crawlies!
