Heavier animals (for example mature bulls) should receive an additional 10mL for each 100kg over 650kg.

Paramectin Pour-On is formulated only for external application to cattle; do not use in other species. The formulation should be applied along the topline in a narrow strip extending from the withers to the tailhead. The dose is 1mL for each 10kg of live weight.

Dose the mob according to the heaviest animal by live weight in each group (cows, bulls, calves, heifers, etc.). When there is a large variation in size within the group, draft into two or more lines based on body weight, to avoid overdosing. Do not underdose. Cattle should be weighed with either scales or with a weigh band.

Rates are a general guide only. Before opening, carefully read Paramectin Pour-On For Cattle (Abamectin) Directions for Use, Precautionary and Protection Statements, Storage and Disposal, Safety Directions and First Aid Instructions.

No contradictions are stated on the 'directions for use' label for Paramectin Pour-On For Cattle regarding the use of pregnant cows. If possible, handling cows late into the pregnancy and close to calving should be avoided to avoid potential complications related to handling stress. The 'directions for use' are on the Paramectin Pour-On product screen. Scroll down to the heading 'SDS & Technical' select, and a pdf will become available for download or printing.

To maintain withholding periods and animal safety, the minimum retreatment interval for Paramectin Pour-On is 35 days.  If fly pressure is high you may have to look at alternating to a specific Buffalo Fly backline treatment such as Brute Pour-On, Easy-Dose Pour-On or Demize Pour-On.  The use of Backrubbers or Insecticidal Fly Tags might also be of interest.
