Cobalex 2000 B12 Injection (Hydroxocobalamin) COBALEX B12 INJECTION Jurox

Description

Cobalex 2000 B12 Injection

Active Ingredient: 2 mg/mL Hydroxocobalamin (as the acetate)

Similar or comparable to Cobalife VB12 For Sheep And Cattle (Elanco)

Cobalex 2000 Injection is used to treat and control Vitamin B12 Deficiency in Sheep and Cattle.

Cobalex 2000 Injection provides a readily absorbed source of vitamin B12 levels in sheep and cattle. When given subcutaneously, the product is well-tolerated and non-irritant. The increased protein binding of hydroxocobalamin sustains circulating vitamin B12 levels for longer than cyanocobalamin.

Vitamin B12 is an essential component of several enzymes involved in normal metabolism. It is stored in the liver and is necessary for appetite, energy maintenance, production and growth.

Versatile:

Cobalex 2000 Injection is registered for use in lambs, sheep, calves and grown cattle. Only one product is therefore needed to correct Vitamin B12 deficiency, regardless of the age or production stage of the animal, e.g. growing, pregnant or lactating.

Superior Formulation:

Cobalex 2000 Injection is produced with high-quality ingredients and is a robust free-flowing formulation. Unlike some other Vitamin B12 injectables, Cobalex has a 60-day broached-vial claim. Any unused portion can be stored for later use for up to 60 days after initial opening instead of being discarded at the day’s end, as is the case with other injections.

Three (3) Year Shelf Life:

Cobalex 2000 Injection is a very stable formulation with a 3-year shelf life from the date of manufacture.

Storage At Room Temperature:

Cobalex 2000 Injection can be stored at room temperature (<30c), making transport and storage much more convenient.

Flexibility:

With a NIL meat withholding period (WHP) and NIL export slaughter interval (ESI), graziers have complete flexibility in the timing of their livestock marketing decisions. This means that livestock can be sold for slaughter even the day immediately after treatment, should market prices suddenly increase.

User-friendly Packaging:

Cobalex 2000 Injection is available in 500mL plastic pillow packs with pliable collapsible sides. This means that the volume of each dose is accurate and consistent from the first to the last treatment from the pack.

Pack Size: 500mL Pillow Pack

Registrant: Jurox Pty Ltd (APVMA #:67608)

Cobalex 2000 Injection is available with selenium – Cobalex 2000 Plus Selenium Injection.

Is it safe to vax cows in their 3rd trimester
  1. Q Is it safe to vax cows in their 3rd trimester
Asked by Sheran on January 17, 2022 2:45 pm
    Answered by the admin

The Cobalex 2000 B12 Injection is safe to use on cattle late into pregnancy.  There are no pregnancy restraints, contraindications or precautions listed on the products label when used as directed.  As with any pregnant livestock, you should avoid unnecessary handling stress as this poses a risk to the cow and unborn calves welfare.

  2. Can I give Cobalex 2000 B12 the same time as All Trace Bolus?
  3. Q Can I give Cobalex 2000 B12 the same time as All Trace Bolus?
Asked by Louwrens Smit on November 29, 2021 3:09 pm
    Answered by the admin

The application of Cobalex B12 and All Trace Bolus at the same time should be fine.  Cobalex is out of the animal's system within 4-6 weeks and the All Trace is released slowly over an 8 month period.  If there was an excess of cobalt then it would be passed by the animal.
