Kendon All Seasons White Oil Insecticide contains 825 g/L petroleum oil. Growers use this white oil insecticide on scale insects in citrus and grapes, and mites in pome and stone fruit. In addition, it helps control Cercospora, Cordana, leaf spot and leaf speckle on bananas when mixed with a fungicide.
Kendon Chemical & Mnfg Co Pty Ltd supplies the product under APVMA registration 49333. The label also covers aphids, scale, mites, mealybugs and immature whitefly on roses, shade trees and ornamentals. Furthermore, it doubles as a spreader that improves spray coverage with other pesticides.

Q. How does white oil control scale insects?
A. White oil works physically, not chemically. It can block the spiracles insects breathe through, so they suffocate. Therefore, thorough coverage of both leaf surfaces matters. Efficacy is best against young crawler stages.
Q. What is the withholding period?
A. The withholding period is one day. Do not apply later than one day before harvest. As a result, you can spray close to picking.
Q. Can I spray white oil in hot weather?
A. No. Do not spray when shade temperatures exceed 30°C. Also, avoid spraying when the soil is dry or trees suffer moisture stress. Instead, apply 7 to 10 days after rain or irrigation.
Q. Can I use white oil after a sulphur spray?
A. Only at low rates. Wait at least one month after sulphur or lime sulphur before using more than 250 mL per 100 L. Otherwise, severe injury may occur, especially in hot weather.
Q. Is white oil safe on all plants?
A. Not always. Oil removes the blue bloom from some evergreens. For this reason, use the lower rate or test spray oil-sensitive plants first. Also, do not spray walnut foliage.
