Pole-Axe Sheep Drench POLE-AXE Hunter River Company

Description

Pole-Axe Sheep Drench

Active Ingredient: Naphthalophos @ 800g/kg

Similar or comparable to Rametin Oral Sheep Drench (Pharm Smart Australia Pty Ltd) & WSD Napthalophos Drench for Sheep (WSD)

Pole-Axe Sheep Drench is for the control of organophosphate susceptible strains of gastrointestinal mature and immature roundworms in sheep and lambs. Pole-Axe contains Naphthalophos, a member of the organophosphorus family of chemicals.

In sheep and lambs, Pole-Axe Sheep Drench is effective against organophosphate susceptible strains of;

  • Mature and Immature stages of;
    • Barber’s Pole worm (Haemonchus contortus)
    • Stomach Hair worm (Trichostrongylus axei)
    • Black Scour worm (Trichostrongylus spp.)
    • Small Brown Stomach worm (Ostertagia spp.)
  • Mature stages of;
    • Thin Necked Intestinal worm (Nematodirus spp.)

As Pole-Axe has a different mode of action, it is for use in a drench rotation program where resistance exists to the other major sheep drench families. Alternatively, it may be mixed with other benzimidazole or levamisole-based drenches under veterinary advice.

Pole-Axe Sheep Drench mixes readily with all types of water. Its high suspensibility ensures a consistent uniform suspension during drenching. If Pole-Axe is left standing, shake well before using. Follow the mixing instructions on the label to ensure complete mixing.

Note that Pole-Axe is very toxic, so extreme care must be taken by the user to closely follow the label instructions when mixing, dosing and disposing of waste.

Pole-Axe will control strains resistant to other drench groups, but resistance may develop to any drench product. Advice on internal parasite management to reduce the development of resistance should be obtained from your veterinary practitioner or animal health consultant. It is advisable that a resistance test be conducted before any parasite treatment is used. If drench failure is suspected, seek veterinary confirmation.

Pack Size: 1.5kg (add water to make oral drench)
