What is MultiBoost with B12:

MultiBoost with B12 is a chelated trace element injection for beef and dairy cattle deficient in and/or responsive to copper, manganese, zinc, selenium and/or Vitamin B12 supplementation. MultiBoost with B12 delivers the five-way power of four essential trace minerals and Vitamin B12 in a convenient, low-volume injection.

MultiBoost with B12 contains selenium, copper, zinc, manganese and Vitamin B12, which are required for optimal health, production and fertility. Sub-optimal trace mineral and Vitamin B12 status at calving, mating and drying-off has been shown to impact production, reproduction and health negatively.

Optimising trace element status relying solely on oral supplements may fail as a result of variation in individual intake and reduced absorption because of antagonism of other ration components and minerals to these essential trace elements. Using an injectable supplement can improve trace mineral and Vitamin B12 status at these critical times, promoting a healthy immune system, which is important in resisting disease and has a positive impact on reproduction.

What are the constituents in MultiBoost with B12, and why are they important:

Zinc is involved in Cell division, maintaining the integrity of skin and mucous membranes, hair, and hooves, wound healing, lung function, bone and cartilage development, disease resistance, reproduction/fertility, spermatogenesis, placental retention, and udder function.
Copper has a role in Iron metabolism, bone development, and maintenance of elastic connective tissue, blood formation, disease resistance, reproduction/fertility and placental retention.
Manganese has a role in Protein metabolism, disease resistance, bone and cartilage and connective tissue development, reproduction/fertility, ovulation, spermatogenesis and embryo survival.
Selenium has a role in Preventing cellular oxidation, disease resistance, muscle function, reproduction/fertility, spermatogenesis, embryo survival and placental retention.
Vitamin B12 is involved in Energy metabolism, DNA synthesis, red blood cell production, nervous system function, and reproduction/fertility.

Dose Rate: Dairy and beef cattle:

Animals Age	Dose Rate/kg
Up to 1 year	1mL / 50kg
From 1 -2 years	1mL / 75kg
Over 2 years	1mL / 100kg

Suggested supplementation program:

Bulls: 3 months before joining and at joining
Beef cows: 4 weeks before mating and 4 weeks before calving
Dairy cows: 4 weeks before calving, 4 weeks before mating or insemination and 4 weeks before drying off
Calves: At marking and weaning
Heifers: Every 3 months and 4 weeks before mating
Additional: Every 2 months in wet conditions

Critical Comments:

Following withdrawal of the first dose, the unused product should be discarded after 9 months.
Administer to cattle by subcutaneous injection.
Check the accuracy of the applicator before and during treatment.
Do not re-treat cattle for 8 weeks after last treatment.
The treatment frequency depends on the nutrient status of your herd.
Consult your veterinarian or animal health advisor for supplementation advice specific to your situation.

Administration:

This product must not be applied at a rate greater than the amount shown on the label.
It is important that cattle are dosed accurately according to their individual body weights.

Caution:

Avoid carcass damage.
Sterilise all injection apparatus by boiling (or equivalent) before use. Avoid using strong disinfectants on the apparatus.
Maintain cleanliness at all times.
Keep needles sharp and clean. Replace frequently.
Use needles of appropriate gauge and length.
As far as possible, avoid cattle injecting during wet weather or under dusty conditions.
This product should be injected only under the skin.
If possible, inject high on the neck behind the ear.

Tips For Use

Contraindications:

This product is contraindicated for use when selenium intake from pasture is high or selenium is provided by other means (such as top-dressing, vaccine, pellets or selenium drenches) if blood selenium levels at treatment are high.
Excessive copper is toxic. Do not administer unless copper deficiency has been confirmed. Users are advised to consult their veterinarian to determine selenium and/or copper status.
This product is contraindicated for use in animals that are dehydrated or unwell.

Precautions:

Do not administer to severely debilitated cattle.
Do not administer to cattle suffering from liver disease.
Do not treat thirsty or exhausted cattle. Allow cattle access to water after treatment.
Minerals such as copper, cobalt, selenium, iron, manganese and molybdenum compete with each other for metabolically important processes in the animal. Users should seek veterinary advice before treatment.

Storage:

Store below 25°C (air conditioning) in the original container in a dry place.
Protect from light.
Keep the container well closed.
Do not freeze.
