Insect and Spider Spray Insecticide

Deltamethrin insecticides like Insect and Spider Spray Insecticide are highly toxic to bees. While they may be effective for pest control, taking precautions to minimise the risk to these essential pollinators is crucial. To minimise the risk to bees, (1) Avoid Spraying Flowering Plants: Bees are most at risk when foraging on flowering plants. Avoid spraying deltamethrin on any plants in bloom or where bees are actively foraging. (2) Time of Day: Spray in the early morning or late evening when bees are less active. (2) Weather Conditions: Avoid spraying on windy days, as the insecticide can drift and affect bees in nearby areas. (3) Follow Label Instructions: Always read and follow the instructions on the insecticide label carefully. (4) Consider Alternatives: If possible, consider using alternative pest control methods that are less harmful to bees, such as biological controls or physical removal.

When mixed and applied per the directions of use, Insect and Spider Spray Insecticide will not stain dark-coloured surfaces, including timber. We also recommend that Insect and Spider Spray Insecticide be applied to a small, inconspicuous area before full application to test its suitability for the treated surface.

The "Insect and Spider Spray" Insecticide is a suspension concentrate formulation. Suspension concentrate formulation insecticides are typically designed to minimise staining. These formulations are engineered to provide effective pest control while minimising the potential for visible residues or stains. However, it's important to note that the potential for staining can still vary depending on the product, application method, surface type, and environmental conditions. To ensure the best results and minimise the risk of staining, it is recommended to carefully follow the mixing and application instructions provided by the manufacturer on the label. This may include proper dilution rates, appropriate application techniques, and specific precautions or recommendations for certain surfaces. If you have concerns about potential staining, it's always a good idea to first test the product on a small inconspicuous area to assess any potential effects on colour or staining. Additionally, if you're working with sensitive surfaces, such as fabrics or delicate materials, it may be advisable to seek professional advice or consult the manufacturer for specific recommendations. Remember, while suspension concentrates formulation insecticides strive to minimise staining, handling and applying them carefully and taking necessary precautions to protect surfaces and reduce any potential impact is still essential.

Insect and Spider Spray Insecticide is not registered for use on plants or gardens, so we cannot guarantee the safety of your plants. The product may have a solvent or other insipient that may affect plants. The Insect and Spider Spray Insecticide do not have a best before or expiry date.  The ingredients used to make the insecticide will deteriorate over time, so you must use them in a reasonable time frame.  We recommend customers use the insecticide contents within approximately five years from purchase to be on the safe side.  You should shake the product well before use to ensure sediment has not massed on the bottom of the container.

Once dry, Insect and Spider Spray Insecticide does not have any residual effects that will affect your pets.  The active ingredient Deltamethrin kills insects by direct contact or eating it. It disrupts their normal nervous system function. It is less toxic to mammals due to their higher body temperature, larger body size, and decreased sensitivity to the chemical.  We would recommend the removal of your pets before spraying and not letting them back into the area until the spray has dried.  Removal of their food and water sources is also advised.

The length of protection provided by Deltamethrin Insecticides (ie Insect & Spider Spray or Insectigone) depends on many conditions such as the surface being applied to (porous v nonporous), exposure to weather, cleaning of the site after spraying etc.  The general rule of thumb though is that in protected areas around buildings you should expect 2-3 months of residual protection.
