How does Cydectin Pour-On treatment work?
Cydectin contains moxidectin at 5g/L, a potent second-generation ML endectocide. It works by disrupting parasites’ nervous systems, leading to paralysis and eventually, death.
Once applied along the backline of an animal, Cydectin disperses across the coat and is absorbed into the skin where it can begin to take effect. Its long persistence helps to break parasite life cycles and reduce reinfection pressure, supporting better weight gain, feed efficiency, and overall herd performance.
Which parasites does Cydectin control?
Cydectin Pour-On controls a range of internal and external cattle parasites commonly encountered in the Australian agricultural landscape, including:
- Gastrointestinal roundworms (adult and immature L4)
- Barber’s pole worm (Haemonchus placei)
- Small brown stomach worm (Ostertagia ostertagi [O. lyrata])
- Stomach hair worm (Trichostrongylus axei)
- Black scour worm (T. colubriformis, T. longispicularis)

Yes – nil milk withholding applies.
